Hi,
If I have some law-conscience feelings, and I don't want to use markers for signing bills, is there some type of substitute? I'm talking about some type of marker that'll fade after time or something like that, not a pencil (not seen at a stage performance) or a sticker to put on the bill (looks awkward). Any solutions? |

For whatever it's worth, it's not against the law to sign your name on U.S. currency--that's just an "urban legend" among magicians. Here is the actual language with respect to law regarding the defacement of currency:
Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. As long as you don't make the bill "unfit to be reissued" (which a signature will not), you're fine. |

Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.
