I just got this headset because it is belt free and the small transmitter is attached at the back of the head band. It is easier to wear and no more wires and beltpacks to carry.

Aside from that, it works on a single AAA alkaline battery for 14 hours. That’s better, cheaper and lighter than the usual 9V or the others with 2 AA batteries.

The only thing I don't like about this headset is that the foam supplied is quite big and the cable running to the mic is also quite thick.

I would like to modify this by just getting the transmitter and attaching it to a smaller headworn mic like the Shure Beta 54 Condenser Headworn Mic or a mic similar to the Countryman E6.

Would this work or be compatible?

Yes it could work. You will need to know the wiring though. Each transmitter is different.
