More than once I've heard someone say, "Hey, Spill, you ought to write those things down!" The most recent someone was Bob Sheets, who said it as we walked to a parking lot. We had just spent a pleasant two hours reminiscing about our life and times with a group of our peers, and one or two of our betters.

At three o'clock that morning, just as I lay me down to sleep, Bob's suggestion flitted through my mind, but I couldn't remember what it was he suggested I "write down." If it wasn't so late I would have called him and asked, but instead of awakening him, I awoke myself, made my way to the computer, and started a blog.

Go to http://www.magicopolis.com click on Steve Spill and you'll find my blog. Except for the exclusion of the many mundane, unproductive, and boring stretches in my life, which have little or no entertainment value to anyone, everything else is there.

http://www.magicopolis.com also has reviews, features, video, about our theater show, Escape Reality; who is appearing in our weekly bar show, news about special events for New Year's, Valentines Day, etc.

This is not a magic site but the author wrote an awsome article on the best magic tricks ever. Take a look at David Copperfields death saw and the indian rope trick. Just awesome.

From a totally different perspective, mine are the news searches that I do on Google and Yahoo every day for magic related info.

Friends...there are many choices on the net when it comes to purchasing Magic related materials.

May I make a reccommendation?

http://magicplace.us/

I like this site.Their prices are Great....and so far the service has been the best I have encountered.

I am in no way affiliated with The Magic Place.I just appreciate good personalized service and great prices..like most of us like and expect.

Happy trails.

Dodd mentions his site but I just have to mention it again because it's so great:
The Magic News

Also Magic Gizmo has some fantastic articles:
Magic Gizmo

Another helpful data base of books, DVDs and tricks:
The Magic Reference Pages!

To make sure you don't buy rip off products, check out Tim Ellis' Magic Fakers Page:

I second the Magic Fakers website. Great stuff!

Simple, where it all began. Most have no idea Magic did not exist, and Magic Organizations were not on the web until Richard Robinson took a great resource from the BBS system to the World Wide Web. http://www.allmagic.com It became the pattern for all to follow. The SAM was the first Magic org to be on the web as well. http://www.magicsam.com AllMagic preceeded CNN, NBC, ABC and all the search engines we rely on. Richard was the first with the vision of what this would all become. Look at where we are now. Most laughed back then when he said "one day we will sell ad space here" Still one of the most inovative places for magic. The Magicalendar followed from a Newsletter I used to mail out listing National and Intrnational Conventions. Again, many followed, but this is where it began. Magicalendar: http://allmagic.com/magicshow/calendar/ In the beginning Magic Mag used all this info for their Convention Guide, with permission of course. So much has grown from all of this, but as I said, not many know where it all began.

http://www.magicana.com/index.php?vSec=hom and look into David Ben's blog site. I think Canada is sorely under represented despite a handful of well know magicians - Does everyone know that Vernon is from there.

http://www.magicmgmt.com/magicshop/

http://www.outlaw-effects.com/store/ - just way to cool -expensive, exclusive, high quality, very niche!

Just for fun:
http://www.museumreplicas.com/default.aspx you'll have a hoot browsing around and I think you might secretly place an order! : )
and I can't stress enough for magic wands, Moonlight Magic wands - one must get it gaffed. just do a search here to read up about it if your into using wands or even collecting. And I know there are a bunch of closet magic collectors that acquire props or pieces and not really or ever perform it. I think this is my most positive and productive post and not being such a intolerant grumpy gus reading another "what is an invisible deck" or another friggen what is the best anything. Perhaps a new forum area for posters of 1k to I don't know have a higher level of exchange - or for those who are willing to pay a small monthly subscription right into that 1k level. Reaching 50 is rather easy. But I do get puzzled by that one person who had over 1k asking about Okito boxes? It's like a cook asking what is Al Dente?

I feel that polls or some kind of consensus taking doesn't really do anything but leave one back at the starting place. oh well, check out the links. I'll be working on winding down my replies on this forum to be more constructive and kinder, not respond with sarcasm or just ignore and walk away from whatever topic seems pointless. Oh by the way, I wish to make my own gaffed flipper Silver Eagle Dollar coin, any good links for that? kidding. sorry. I know I had to be an arse anyway.
