It's hard to pick a single one. Beer was very important for reasons of sanitation in early Europe. Most everything is great, hard to pick a single one. So I stay with Trebek.

Actually Language works for the other four as in:
Sanitation -- "Hey, who's going to pick this s**t up!?
Penicillin -- "Holy sh*t, I think I've got an STD... gimme something for it!!"
Knives and cutting instrument -- "Sh*t,s**t... I cut myself!!!"
Moral & Ethical Codes -- "It's pretty s**tty that in this day and age we have to disguise such a usefull word."

One person’s opinion of what the greatest invention is may be considered the worst by someone else.
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

Blonde hair dye.

Think of the increased amount of sexy blondes there are out there because of blonde hair in a bottle.
She could be 100 yards away, you don't know if she's 18 or 59 but that blonde hair catches the corner of your eye and your head turns to check.

I thank the man whom invented the fake blonde. There is a special place in heaven for ye.

Viagra, blood pressure medication, blood sugar medication, colesterol medication, baby asprins, and prescription drugs in general, because without these modern marvels I would not be the healthy youthful old man that I am today. The drug companies price gouge us for these drugs, but I would not be alive today without them. I just ate a handful of them, and I'm ready to go like the energizer bunny for another day.

Structured thought, conscious awareness and the ability to communicate dreams & ideas. Without western philosophy, I dare say, we would probably not know of the many advances enjoyed by us today, including the internet.

The ULTIMATE STYLE GRIP

Seriously. I invented it, it's mine, all mine and no one else can do it!

Other than that, for the rest of you, I would say the best invention is; the BICYCLE! I mean how else would you be able to come on my NYC bicycle tour?!

Hey now!

a close second (or third, depending) would have to be beer! Because I know how important it is for Stoney!
