A few months ago I saw a reprint of an older book advertised, written by a ventriloquist that was a memoir/autobiography, but I don't remember who the author was. I think he performed during the 30's-40's. Does anyone know about this book and who the author was?

Possibly "Memoirs of a Ventriloquist" by John Schaibley. He started as a 1920s vaudeville ventriloquist, but in the book he related his story till late his career.
Great, great book with lots of interesting insights on the performers' life during those times. |
