Why, I think it would be a nice inside joke for Café Members for someone to actually develop an Assembly routine where all the coins end up under your tie.
And the magic word...."ZAHTZ" The Letterman Assembly!! Okay, maybe not that funny. is this thing on? |

Pointing and saying "Zotz" would have disastrous results. Small explosions, death, etc... Now that I think about it, it was a rather violent movie. Probably wouldn't be "politically correct" to air it now.

I don't think I've ever seen it run on TV since, so maybe you're right about the politically correct part. Then again, maybe it was just a lousy movie I mean I'm not saying it was, it's just hard to say from this perspective. I do remember liking it as a child, but you know how that goes. |

When Roth finished I listened to the audience and they really gave him a great round of applause. IMHO he did just fine. He fooled. And that is so rare in magic these days.

Now I know why I like Roth so much. He handle himself like a pro, waited until Letterman stoped with all his playing around and then continued were he left off.
Never missed a beat. Thanks for sharing Tim

Everyone's that thinks Letterman was tough ought to try performing for some REAL drunks some time.
I love David Roth's work, it's technically flawless. At the same time, his patter tends to sound "canned" and over-rehearsed (IMHO) Letterman kept it fresh by his fooling around, and gave his audience (an audience that was there for the DL Show, NOT the DR show) what they love. Performer's that go on Letterman need to be able to keep up. Roth was a thorough pro, and it showed.
Woke up.

I thought Roth's performance was excellent. The coins across and jumbo coin production were fantastic.
However, I will never, ever, ever, ever, EEEEVVVEEERRRR like Chink-a-chink performed on the table. It just doesn't fool anyone. |
