So I thought it'll be a good idea to start a thread about ideas and routines to use with this wallet, I am going to use this in conjunction with three routines I perform those being the following
nod to pocket watch by looch - those that know this routine can get the required info off the spec without them being any the wiser and still produce from the tin, this wallet makes this effect even more powerful than it already is! fate by simon aronson - again makes this effect more powerful as you don't need the spec to tell you the date before pulling the sheet out of your wallet, those that know this routine will know what I mean chronologue by bob cassidy - again you can pull the diary out before the spec really names their specific birthday or special date of choosing any other ideas? |

I use a "Thought Transmitter" which is basically the same effect, but different method of the "Telethought". I am a big movie buff. All genres. Of course, I never let them know this. Using the "Telethought", I have someone think of a movie, one that most in the audience would know of, and they write the title in the wallet. I get my peak, and if I have seen the film, I will have them project the movie thru their mind in fast forward, picturing as many scenes as possible. I then start "picking" their mind little by little and zero in on one scene. But if they choose a movie I have not seen, but there is a very famous scene the movie that everyone would know, like Julie Andrews on top of the hill spinning in circles in the film The Sound of Music, I will direct them to that scene. Though I've never seen the film, I do know that particular scene.
If I know nothing about the movie, then I go for the title, spelling it a little at a time. But if you can describe a scene in the movie they are thinking of..... that's pretty powerful. If you know a lot about a subject, like film, music, different sports, history, cars, etc. you can use it the same way as with movies. They will remember you seeing inside their mind, and they'll usually forget about the wallet. Rappel |

Rappel, have tried "The Outlaw?" I use to use the "Thought Transmitter" at first. But "The Outlaw" stomps it, hands down.

No, but I want to use something else. Lighting has given me problems with the Thought Transmitter.

We previously discussed "The Outlaw Panther" here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=15 "The Outlaw Panther" can be purchased here: http://outlaw-effects.com/outlaweffects/......temid=28 The "Thought Transmitter" is too much of a toy. The spectators will see it is in the prop and not the mind. With "The Outlaw Panther" you will not have to worry about any light or battery going dead. |

IMHO, Telethought Wallet looks to much like a "magic" wallet to me, big glossy panel on the outside?
I have all the wallets, - but the Stealth Assasin Wallet is still my everyday wallet, it performs real miracles! take a look at this link; http://www.stealthassassin.com/intro.htm Steve |

Actually, just to stay with this topic in the direction it is heading, for a moment, I think the Thought Transmitter can add a real punch to many different effects – not least the magic square. I have used the TT for many years and have gone through a LOT of batteries. I am constantly amazed how many full time mentalists I have worked with who, when asked to “do something”, have pulled out their TT. I even saw one of our top mentalists use it on the most popular UK TV chat show. However, admittedly, there are a couple of little problems. (1) It’s plastic. I wear an expensive hand-made suit, but I pull out this daft wee plastic business card holder. Hmmmm. (2) It can be waaay too bright on occasion!
However, lucky me, I have discovered something a bit special recently, almost by accident (I have nothing to gain from the promotion of this item, by the way) It looks similar to the TT, but it is made of soft leather. The light is much more subtle. AND it’s a fair bit cheaper than the TT. Believe me, this is a BIG improvement. Also, I have seen the TT being held by a participant and in the act of holding it between their palms the light has come on! The switch on this version is a lot tighter… (I once found my TT with a flat battery because of the way it was packed in the case – it won’t happen with this version!) You can find it at http://www.lomondmagic.com/mind-readers-wallet-10-p.asp though I have to admit, the photograph you will find there does not do it justice. This is a top quality leather item of the sort I would carry anyway. In my opinion, a superb product at a very reasonable price. Drew |

So does this wallet work on the same principle as the thought transmitter? if so does it have permission to do so or is this a rip off of someones great idea?

Sorry - I have no idea. I don't even know who actually makes it. I just thought that I would share with the guys on here the fact that I happened across a superb little tool. Also, a rip-off suggests a cheap version (as in a rip-off Rolex). Although this is only £20 - which I think is around $40 - it is a stitched leather wallet. I know that using a light source for a peek goes back a long way, so I have no idea who first came up with the principle. I have always had superb service from John Cornelius, and I must have gone through about 20 of his wallets (well, batteries anyway) over the years, but I was just so pleased with the Mind Reader Wallet that I thought it only fair to share it. Perhaps you could ask the supplier.
Nice web site, by the way, Blake. Drew |

The thought transmitter and telethought wallet work TOTALLY different. the telethought wallet is way better imo! both the telethought wallet and outlaw 'magnum' use the same technology to achieve their effect. no batteries are used!

Each has its limitations, some more than others. And a good performer will know when its risky, assess the risk and decide whether or not to use it. I would think that one always has some kind of back up effect.

Drew,
do you have a Stealth Assasin Wallet ? had mine a couple of years now, use it daily in a magic and practical way. Nobody ever ever sees me getting the glimpse, and the wallet is above suspicion. I allready own thought transmitter, telethought, outlaw magnum etc but SAW is the real weapon of choice, - superb! see link above. Steve |
