Did anyone catch the David Blaine special on ABC tonight? What are your thoughts and opinions?

Most of it was pretty decent, but that's got to be one of the worst endings to a show I've ever seen. Talk about anti-climactic...

What happened? Or better what was suppose to happen. There was nothing death defying about him hanging from a cable.
Does anyone know if the dollar bill trick he did (moving the seal) is on the market? |

I am not sure if we were to ever know he was on a wire. For safety reasons it caught him...but I think he was suppose to just jump and either start to ascend or start down a hair and then go up.

Yeah, the ending was very anti-climatic... as a few said, something must have went wrong and he had to use that ending as the out.

The ending was pretty terrible. The magic itself was pretty interesting though.

David did Fraud - the moving of the seal
he also did Extreme Burn - the changing of $1s to $20s... or whatever denomination. I was surprised by the number of commercial effects he did vs. unique ones. While watching it I kept saying to everyone - we sell that one.. and that one... and that one.. hahahah Id like to hear Davids take on the ending and what went wrong - but we will never know...

Blatant commercialism
but youTube seems to be full of videos showing how it was done as well

My DVR was set to record the show, but "Dancing With The Stars" apparently went long, so I missed the bullet catch and the dive. I did enjoy the close up, though the use of stooges was profound. How about when he did extreme burn and borrowed the bills from that lady on the porch? Goofy. A perfectly folded stack of 5 dollar bills. I also noticed that he did Quantum Bender 2. I enjoyed his handling of it. Overall I guess I think that specials like this are good for all of us. I love close up magic, and love seeing it on national TV.

Is that Extreme Burn? Or Hundy 500? Or Heiny 500?
The coin bend is Quantum Bender 2 or is it accomplished with Spun?
Best Regards,

I spoke personally with the CEO and he's got a cool story about how he started the business as a result of a college project. Really down to earth and gave me some of his very valuable time to do an interview for a class I had. I'll be purchasing from them in the near future. |
