It is going to be released by my company PhillyMagic.com right now there isn't much on it as we haven't updated in a while. The site has a few things coming along including some things with Dan White.

To be honest when I read Cory Chapmans posts on this and another thread, I thought he was some kind of shill for Blaine. As cover for a coupla his effects on the special that were too good or something? Especially after reading this threads post.

But I do remember the court card photo effect years ago, I think Paul Zenon did it also. While it was for sale I came to the conclusion this wouldn't fit in my walk around set. Dan Cain's effect looks interesting, I have a pipe thought how it might work, there are interesting materials out these days. Is This going to be for sale?

Yes it will be available as an Instant Download on PhillyMagic.com
Time Frame is around February 2008. It will be available around the
same time as Dan Cain's ACCESS effect which will feature him and
Dan White in a collaborative piece. Stay tuned for updates.

It was brought to my attention that Dan Cain's effect is very different from Garcia's. The only real similarity is that a dollar bill is used. With Garcia's there is a visual change and the image actually looks like its part of the bill. In Dan Cain's effect there is a color image and the effect is used as a revelation of a card that the spectator chooses. The effects are very different and both are very creative works.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE EFFECT THAT BLAINE DID ON HIS SPECIAL THEN BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR GARCIA'S EFFECT!!!

I apologize for any confusion

What about Cory's effect, Transformed? How is this different? It seems Cory originally thought Blaine used his effect.

Hi everyone. This is Dan Cain. I'm new to this site and hope to meet a lot of you.

I want to clear a few things up for everyone regarding the Portrait effect Dan White, Doug McKenzie and Danny Garcia (DG) created and the Photo Finish effect I created. Although there is a visible change that happens in both effects, they are entirely different. Different in method, handling and outcome.

Quick story...Funny thing about magic is people can, and do quite often, come up with the same idea although they are oceans apart as Stan Allen of Magic Magazine taught me. I chatted with DG on MySpace around the beginning of this year through an account my wife created for our family. I shared with him an idea I came up with and he informed me that he actually came up with the same effect a couple years prior. Keep in mind, I had never seen his effect and thought mine to be original. But, as they say I was a day late and a dollar short. lol

As Will (morpheis91) said above, the effect I came up with is a color image and the effect is used as a revelation of a card that the spectator chooses. I've been doing this effect at parties, banquets, all sorts of events. I usually perform it as my final effect for the host or guest of honor. Awesome responses. Just awesome. Can't even begin to put into words.

Anyway, I hope that helps clear a few things up for everyone.

Oh, hey hackmonkey...Transformed is more along the line of Infinity Switch by Sean Fields if I'm not mistaken. Cory, correct me if I'm wrong.

This is Cory performing Transformed:

As you can see it is just a visual bill switch. No portrait or image ends up on the bill.

He has an effect where a spectators face appears on a card, Polaroid. But also on Transformed the bonus effect is one of the spectators face appearing on the bank note. I think that's where the confusion is.
To be honest, I watched the polaroid demo and while interesting for the fire effect from the card. I just couldn't see a face on the final burnt card, a head shaped burn maybe.

I am interested in both the Dan's effects and look forward to their release. After reading Nightshades in AOA a face changing on the bill immediately came to mind, but couldn't figure a practical way to get the specs face on the bill. Garcia is a smart man.

Sounds very similar to a Juan Mayoral effect where the face of a spectator appears on the face of the chosen/ forced King playing card.

Not everything is created with an intention to release it.

Also, some effects require extensive set-up and are more practical for television than casual or strolling performance. I don't know how the effect works, but I'm guessing it falls into this category.
