"One of the most unusual and powerful card tricks ever created. You place a prediction in view. A spectator names any number between 1 and 52. You show a deck of cards and (without cutting or any moves) you count to that number. That card matches the prediction! Easy to do. No rough and smooth. Complete with special deck (always ready to go!)."
The best CAAN effect in my opinion. You can really show the deck face up (but it's not examinable) even if the deck is "special". Actually it's not really between 1 and 52. You can't use 1, 50, 51 or 52. Anyway, there is a very little chance that a spectator selects one of them and you can just say "select a number, not to low, not to high", and everything will be ok. For me this is the only con of this effect. Because believe it or not but the spectator can select any other number and it will work. Most of time you can count the cards face up. For only 10$ on wildcolombini.com, this is the best deal you can do on this website (and maybe the best deal with any magic dealer, period). It could be easily sold for 20/25$. 9/10

It is indeed a nice effect, but I want to make 2 remarks. The prediction can't be a simple envelope with a card in it. It must be somtehing else, where you put the prediction into, and that is an item I never use. I keep it vague, not to give the method away. Second drawback is that you have to memorize a lot. The effect depends on an 'if this....than that' scenario that you'll have to learn.

I got mine out yesterday. I am going to try it out on Tuesday. As to the memorizing part. The instructions give a great tip as to minimize that part.

I used to do this quite a while ago (I have all the props) and if I hadn't marked the deck with the words orbital I wouldn't have remembered the name of the effect. The problem I'm having is that I can't find my instructions on it. I kind of have a basic idea on what happens but I can't remember the rules involved. If any one has the set of rules for this please PM me otherwise it's gonna have to sit in the magic junk box.
Pick a card, any card at all. Just don't pick a RED spade.

I just bought mine after having seen it at Intermagic in Bogota, Colombia at a dealer's table. It's a great effect and easy to do...Matman is correct about the instruction's tip on memorizing what you need to do -- in fact, there's no need to memorize anything. Easy to do. I like the fact that the instrutions also include additional tips.

Does this appear on any DVD or even VHS?
I have the deck, but no instructions. Although, for $10, I guess I could just buy another one from Aldo. |

There is a pdf for this effect on lybrary. Which is a copy of the original instructions that came with the deck. It also says on lybrary that "it is easy to make up your own from a couple of duplicate cards" Seems pretty amazing to me that an enitre special deck can be made from just two duplicate cards, can anyone vouch for this ease of construction? The pdf is only $2 but ...
