Cheaper?? For years I have used a Walker ($5.00 thrift store), a wooden tray ($1.00 garage sale), a bungie cord and my jaket (free) to make an instant and easily transportable performance table. At Senior Centers and Assisted Living Centers I just bring the tray and borrow a Walker. I have also constucted more elaborate tops for a Walker complete with Well, Servante, storage compartments, etc. An eBook on construction for Walkers, Whelled Walkers and Wheel Chairs will soon be vialable on eversway.com.
I think the Rolling Cabinets described above are wonderful -- and suggest the "complete Magi" get one also.

I still basically for my magic set up use the MagicBob travel case and two "Instands" as side tables. See my earlier blogs about this travel case which opens up as a magic stand (the earlier blog includes a video of MagicBob setting up the case for performance- the same one he used on Now That's Magic!). The problem with the Lowe's "stands" is they are very unstable- have to be fortified with clips as to not all bunch up when placed down sidewise.

Just as a followup to the above, the "Instand" is available from http://www.instand.com Lot's of great combination side tables for magicians, super light weight, nice "grippy" top to it. As for my magic table, I use MagicBob's travel table available from the Harnel Case Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan (www.HarnelCase.com). This is the same table MagicBob uses on the programs at http://www.ChristianMagician.org. See it demonstrated at http://www.magicbob.org/RogerCase.wmv The only draw back is it's volume is limited to the size of one regulation suit case for the airlines, so if I do something bulky like my Abbott's Florabella, I put that in a separate portable suitcase. Harnel will basically make up any case you can dream up. Have a good day all, Roger the dodger.
