I took my DCA Tour Guide license exam last Thursday and didn't pass. The test is 150 questions of which you must get a minimum of 97 correct. I missed by 6 I got 91 correct. I admit that I didn't study and just went off my basic knowledge of NYC.
I know I answered some wrong and should have gotten them right. There were a lot of bus questions, about directions and everything! So now I studied up this past week and am going to take it again this Thursday. So lets have a little fun and make a spreadsheet: Who thinks I will pass or fail? Who thinks I will get less answers correct this time? Who thinks I'll pass and how many over 97 do you think I'll get? If I do fail again, how many times do you think it'll take me to eventually pass? If I do not pass this second chance, EVERY other attempt will cost $50.00! So far I'm in for $100.00 (50 for the license and 50 to take the test...but they do allow the second attempt at no cost) |

If you studied, you should improve by 17%. That's a statistical fact. A 19% improvement would mean 15.47 correct questions. We'll round down to 15, so 91+15=106. You will get 106 questions correct this time.
CONGRATULATIONS! |

I'm actually thinking that studying vs. not instead of more will increase your chances further. I'm going to say you'll get 112

I say pass with a score of 123, since you now know what to study for, having already taken the test.
Good luck. Dan

I honestly don't see how you can fail having taken it once before, but I'll stick to my contrarian prediction. Just to be a...how do you say? ******?
Just to get in the running for the prizes I say you will miss by two next time.

Wow!
You guys are thinking (very) positively! I will be happy with a 98! If you score 120 or above, they put a Gold star next to your name on the DCA web site. |

My "Postmentalism" to you is in the mail. J/k. I predict that you'll get 117. My room-mate says you'll get the 120 needed for the gold star. Now, I'm in a side bet with him, lol!
