This looks cool. Hope the prices are just right. This year already started bad for me with magic purchases, but I'm not complaining.

Wow - following this has been like waiting for that magic trick you ordered over the internet to arrive, with all the hype surrounding the latest and greatest thing to change magic (isn't that what all the adverts say these days!) and then when it finally arrives .... (fill in your own feelings here)

I remember years ago ('90, '91?) when Tenyo came out with the Zig-Zag cigarette (plastic of course)and it was a pretty nifty effect. (Can't for the life of me find the one I had)
I recall one magician who frequented Magic Inc. here in Chicago and loved it so much he had a tool maker make him one out of solid brass! The thing was beautiful and cost him hundreds of dollars to have it made as it was somewhat of a intricate mechanism. Any chance of that coming out again in metal Steve? ~gaffed~

Wow what an aweosme concept it is obvious what JPS Magic has done here and basically answer all the people over the years who have said tenyo stuff is awesome but its plastic!
As far as what Mr Curtis said "Does anyone feel like a sucker following this for months to end it with a sales ad? This reminds me of the Christmas Story when the boy got his secret decoder and that night on the radio the secret message was an AD for a product that sponsored the radio sow! ehehe" Well we all knew it was a sales ad! It was a new product that was coming out and people were talking about purchasing it. So no cover up or let down there. Congrat's guys and thanks for listening to us over the years!
Thanks,

Hello all:
I can't even tell you how excited Steve, Peter and I are about the new line. We have been working like crazy, and dying to tell people about it. Well the secret is finally out, and judging by your comments, most of you are reacting in the positive way that we had hoped! One of our goals for this new line was to give working pros (like Peter, Steve and I) the opportunity to actually PERFORM Tenyo items for audiences, and not be concerned that perhaps they may not take the trick seriously because they were made of plastic. The Tenyo tricks are so brilliant and clever, and they fool laypeople and almost every magician as well. We will be doing the same with the "Tenyo Elite" items. We are so happy to have this opportunity! "Tenyo Elite" is not just a few tricks, but rather a BRAND NEW LINE that will provide what so many in the magic community have been wanting for many decades. We are quite sure that you will be very pleased with these new tricks. We know Peter will respond as well very soon, but he is just on vacation this weekend. Keep the questions and thoughts coming! Thank you for your time. Best regards, Jason Palter Paltergeist Unlimited (416) 410-5766 |

Fantastic! There is definitely a market for deluxe versions of all the ingenious Tenyo tricks. My favorites are "Invisible Zone" and the Jumbo Zig Zag Card trick - can't remember the name! Also, the Zig Zag Cigarette.

The first tenyo trick I bought was the Burglar Ball (not sure if the name is right) but it's the clear plastic box with a shiney pink ball where you wrap it will the rubberband and make the ball push through. Another one is a gold washer come off from the red string nad pearl ball while it's in the box during an up and down shake motion. I can't remember the name but its was my second Tenyo trick. I still miss is after losing some bits

Well admittedly I'm not all that big of a Tenyo fan. It seems as though years ago they would come out with something new about every six months or so. Aside from it being plastic and very "gimmicky" looking I would venture to say, in my opinion, that most of it was junk even if it were not made of plastic. However there were occasions on which they came out with some good concepts but again, the gimmicky looking plastic issue.
I hope the "Elite" team, as it were, takes the time to look over those that have some good merit and turn them into high quality items albeit there is a very good chance I'll not be purchasing any unless something really turns my head. Yes, I'll admit that after all of this hype I was a tad disappointed to find out that it's just all a rehash of old Tenyo tricks but yet I find it a good idea in someways. Time will be the true test. I can't wait for Elite versions of Prison Box and Crystal Cleaver Is Crystal Box the trick that involved a clear plastic box and a ring inside that was penetrated by a small sword/knife when pushed downwards? If so, that indeed was a very cute little concept and one that I only have a few pieces of after all these years. Anyway, good luck to the "Elite" team and I wish you all the best of luck on your new endeavor! ~gaffed~

Do I think JPS can deliver?
I have no idea on that account. My issue is a larger one - a conceptual one. There are at least two directions this product line can go. Based on the 4 examples on the website, I feel that direction may still be two steps left of what a lot of magicians - myself included - have desired over the years. But I don't want to judge an entire line on just 4 products. So - I'll wait . . . and see. Brad Henderson |

Its not that important man...its just Tenyo. No gold or silver. Just anodized aluminum and Tenyo, that's it. Its not economic stimulus or world peace. Nope, just Tenyo. It's really not Brad's fault, he probably hasn't considered the notion that TENYO in Japan just might have the final say on what is allowed and what is not.
