Hi,
I saw an ad for a new improved stack called the Si Stebbins Pro. Has anyone heard of it? |

I haven't, but what is wrong with Si Stebbins?! it is easily "memorised" (stack numbers are actually calculatable) and you can get into it from new deck order (supplication to Darwin Ortiz)!
I wonder what the improvements could be; methinks: "hype". |

Check this link for some additional details.
http://www.solka2.privat.t-online.de/sho......_eng.htm Essentially, there is a new rule applied that makes the suit order appear random. There is a document that explains it, but it is in German. An English version will be available at some time in the future. Nick
Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

OK, I stand corrected - there was room for improvement: the suit order

Si Stebbins Pro is more then the old Classic Stack:
- Pro Stack is so simple as the Classic Stack but without rotating suits (up to three cards with same color. Old rules plus simple "Blackjack rule". - Bonus: Pro Stack has some additionally hidden properties allowing a simple localisation of every card in the stack and a simple position-card-relationship. ways. |

Sounds good hcs, however, what I like with the Si Stebbins is that you can go from NDO to Si Stebbins in a very short time using Darwin Ortiz's method. Would you not loose that advantage in using the SS Pro?

Dear Claudio,
your guess is correct. It makes no sense to go from NDO in Pro Stack with Darwin's Si Stebbins Secret. Either rotating suits (from NDO) or imperfections in the suit order. Althought it is possible to convert the Si Stebbins Classic Stack into Si Stebbins Pro Stack by sorting the deck in heaps within two steps (and vice versa). |

Addition:
At first I start with Ortiz' Si Stebbins Secret. I will end in shocked order. (Yes, it is possible. I do prefer shocked order). This is different to Ortiz. He ends in chased order. But it doesn't matter. At second I immediately show "some important cards for Blackjack and Poker" taking some cards from the deck and showing their face. This cards will be all court cards and the tens from diamond to Clubs. This is very simple, quick and easy. And a great effect for laymens after the two shuffles. At third I collect the 6 heaps from left to right and I got my Pro Stack order. :=)) |

I am not sure I have understood everything: are you presenting a trick to go from SS to Pro Stack? That would be acceptable to me. It's a pity I don't understand German, I could not make much of the excerpt on your site.
Out of curiosity, why do you prefer shocked to chased order? |

"I am not sure I have understood everything: are you presenting a trick to go from SS to Pro Stack? That would be acceptable to me."
Yes, I'm presenting a SHORT trick to go from SS to Pro Stack. By shuffling this is IMHO impossible. "Out of curiosity, why do you prefer shocked to chased order?" Every suit order is equivalent each another and works fine. But I prefer chased order because it is FOR ME more logically. Spades - value 1 - one sharp corner Hearts - value 2 - two lobes Clubs - value 3 - three leaves Diamonds - value 4 - four corners. |

Sorry a typo! I mean:
But I prefer SHOCKED order because it is FOR ME more logically. Spades - value 1 - one sharp corner Hearts - value 2 - two lobes Clubs - value 3 - three leaves Diamonds - value 4 - four corners. |

Thanks. I can not wait. I have been trying to work out a stack with a single rule card to location association myself for about two years.

Wow, although I love the way the suits are done, the work for going from position to card, and visa verse is a bit more work than I was hoping.
