Hello All,
I'm new to this particular room in the Café but I thought I'd share something I posted in other relavant rooms and forums. Please read below... Recently on other forums I was complaining about the lack of exposure I feel I have to seeing bizarre and storytelling magic performances. More so than the other genre's in magic, bizarre and story magic should really be WATCHED to be fully understood. Then again, that's how I personally feel about ALL of the arts. I mean, how do you get inspired and learn to be a painter if you've never seen a painting. Or, become a musician if you've only read about these things called instruments but never HEARD a musician. So I figured I should put my money where my mouth is and get some video clips up to share. I don't have the best and most advanced technology at my finger tips, so after much fretting and running around to friends houses and buying THEM programs to compress videos, etc, etc. I finally have a couple of clips up that I think would be appropriate to share here. The following links are clips to my old show that won Best of the SF Fringe Festival 2004 (...yeah 2004...like I said, it's taken me while) The first clip is my performance of The Needle Through the Arm. It's in two parts. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMQQ-XnRASU Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvV6PkBTg5w The next clip is the Finale to that same show. A story about my grandmother, Spain, revolution, life, death, The Death Card....it's kinda about everything really... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t61gU7QD8o I don't know if you will consider these bizarre or not, but I was on the edge of going bizarre when I developed these performances...I just didn't know it yet. Hope you like, Christian Cagigal SF Bay Area.
