Hi Henry,
First you need to know in what kind of style (mood) do you want to present the effect. Due to this, the music will change automatically. It depends aswell on your stage personna and on the story that you might tell around it. Here are some exemples : - romantique - spooky - serious and sensational - funny Think about it and you'll find yourself in what kind of direction you need to go for the choice of music. Oliver. |

Thanks Olivier, in my performance, in the same routine, I can play different tones, in one part romanque, a little spooky in one moment, you know wath I mean. I will glad to have suggestions on themes for this kind of effect.

Hi Henry,
The best bet is to look at movie soundtracks to get an idea of what you want. When you watch movies, make an effort to listen to the music and make note of the music and see if you can picture it with one of your acts. Another approach is to think what movies you think would fit as a reference or 'backdrop' to your particular act. For eg, if you are doing dream vision and during the audience particpation part where you are getting items to write down and your presentation is going on a date, then think of romance movies and look for soundtracks along those movies. Now, during the revelation of your prediciton, if it is supposed to be dramatic and triumphant at the end think of movies that have soundtracks that build to a triumphant finale. You will have to spend time at a music store or on the Internet listening to hundreds of tracks before finding one that you can use. Remember, you also do not need just one track that has all the textures you want. 2 or 3 different tracks can be spliced together to form the soundtrack for your act. |

Euroilusion,
Excellent explaination for one way of a few others to get the process work. By the way, that's what I'm always doing; watching movies and listen carefully to the soundtrack. I always stay in cinemas until the end of the movies to find out who wrote the music. My wife hates me for this... (just kiddin') Oliver. |

For spooky - might I suggest Nox Arcana. I use them and Midnight Syndicate in my prediction effects with a spooky, mysterious atmosphere.
