This isn't really sideshow specific, but I'm really lusting after this book:
http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogu......1950.htm Does anyone here have it? Be sure to check out the video, too: http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/communit......1950.htm Lord Almighty, how I sure would like to have seen that bicycle stunt! |

Yes,,,,I thought it odd seeing that the Circus really got into its own from the 1950`s that the book ended around that date !!
Note the book "Come to the Circus" duplicated some of the pics from this tomb. From memory a good deal of Barnum`s stuff is also covered. The Circus expo held at Blackpool last year had a copy which was counter signed by JoJo, Coco and Bertram Mills (Priced then at £80) Looks like I should have got another copy and sold it here ! |

My girl friend bought it for me a month ago.
It's !@#$*ng amazing. and HUGE, about 15 pounds and one of the largest books I own. It's also really beautiful and well put together. Brett.

Not to worry Doug--I'm sure Brett took her to the vet as soon as he left the pet store.

I've got about 17 jokes about Brett having a girlfriend. Sword swallowing alone accounts for at least five....
Higley shouldn't be allowed to vet girlfriends. But when marriage approaches, he should be the decider. Gotta keep these things straight. Can we get back to the book? Doug, do you have it? |

That is a pricey book but it looks great. $126.00 was the cheapest I found it. I would like to own a copy myself. Thanks for turning me onto it.

I think my library had it and it got stolen. All the good books get stolen.

Yeah, girlfriend.
She's the pita princess (her great grandfather brought the pita bread to America) that's right. B.

Peter? No, of course the natives had peters, or at least some of them did, I know I do.
I'm talking about pita bread, the arab thing.

Doug, you forget I also have a copy of that Dark Rides book. Signed by the author.
I'm otherwise totally confused by this thread. What does Arab peter bread have to do with a coffee table book about circuses? WAIT! I started this thread. I am the chief Peter of this thread! Peter bread is cool. You grab a slab of it (not a loaf: loafs are western cowboy things), rip off a portion to eat, then rip another portion off, and keep ripping. A decent Peter bread can feed 5,000 people. Or so I've heard. |

Yes Doug, an Arab thing, it's a small cave of sorts, much like the thing Sadam was hiding in all that time, but hers is much nicer, and much cleaner.
wow. I can't believe I've written that.

Brett,
Be careful.I know you like doing all this sideshow stuff and live on the dangerous side. But if she ever wants you to tie like 10 loaves of that pita bread under your coat and send you to the airport.Don't do it! Don |
