Say what you will, but I have not watched so much Bull Crap in a long time. Anyone can say this was taken from that and that represents this etc. ad nausem. It is nothing more than someone taking a lot of information, and notice I did not say facts because much of what is there is specualtion not facts and making it fit whatever senario they wish.
One can take anything and make it sound mysterious. Baseball, 9 innings represents the 9 months before a woman gives birth, 3 strikes represents The Blesssed Trinity, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, 4 balls represents the 4 seasons of the year sprinig summer fall winter. Now all you have to do is make something up out of this. It was a game played by the Ancient DODOS in which just as in life they had to go from first base to second base then to third base and then to home which was their heaven and while many tired only a few make it all the way home. When someone gets to first they are stopped by others who strike out or try and hit the ball only to be caught (by one of the 9 deadly sins) and you do not advance. There are 9 sins stopping you from reaching home (I can make them up later if you wish) The one who hit the ball tried to live a good life but failed along the way by running into someone or something that stopped them (the 9 deadly sins. While this is an over simplification I would hope you get my meaning. I put it together in about 5 minutes. just imagine what someone could come up with in a few days weeks or months especially if they could collobrate with someone. Go Phillies

Aleister Crowley has an interesting and humorous interpretation of nursery rhymes as repositories of spiritual and magickal knowledge. See for example MAGICK, pp 80-86.
Old Mother Hubbard = Goddess, Binah on the Tree of Life. DOG is an anagram for GOD, the bone is the wand and the Holy Lingam, and so on. The poem deals with "the legend of the murder of Osiris...." It is ALL TRUE, folks, even the false things. Bill

Good stuff. Regardless of how much is true, I welcome food for thought.
Acesover, I am writing this in response to your statements (presumably to Baba and Michael Midnight). And why not see ties between human perception of time and the universe around us? This whole problem of particle entanglement has some top physicists wondering if time and space exist at all (outside of our minds, that is). Too many theoretical problems exist with the universe at the quantum level as illustrated by the Quantum Uncertainty Principle and other things. Look at recent physics, and it leaves lots of room for odd perceptions to be real. Yeah, there is a lot of light in the video as Baba says, and we make of reality what we will. When we decide we have no power over perception and the world around us, we don't. That is as simple as psychology and self motivation. Still, our perceptions and desires are tied to this world in many subtle ways. Evoluton provided us with brains that have a tendency to spot (and yes, in some cases, create) patterns. Why? Because it gave us a survival advantage. By percieving patterns we obtained a more accurate, practical and usable perception of reality. I see it in peoples lives. Say what you will, and shut out the possibilities if you wish. thinking about radical, laughable (and evil) ideas got us away from the Ptolemaic Earth cantered solar system and gave us (eventually) a Heliocentric solar system, and that was only the beginning (most recently astrophysicists have discovered that our bubble-like structured collection of superclusters of galaxies are being pulled by parts of the univers so red-shifted, that they can't ever be detected by any means other than gravitational influence. Astrophysicists want to know what is pulling at us, but, too bad). We have come a long way from believing that the Earth is at the center of creation. Look at it this way; In a strictly logical universe with no divinity or extraterrestrial life (Ignoring the Drake equasion), then we, as individuals, are the eyes and ears of the universe. Ignoring the collective mind of humanity ,(a great Junian concept), then we (as individuals) are the center of the universe, just as out brains are the center of our bodies as the focus of various physical processes. It seems to me that the primary tasks in our bodies are centered around giving life and information to the brain. For each of us, we are the center on the universe as we perceive and process the information contained therin. Different viewpoints can have logical validity. Now there is an interesting idea. It is one I engaged often during my education at Oxford. This is a very long way of saying that just because people can say virtually anything they want, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't, or that what they say is a lie (or true, for that matter). Life, and the universe are complex beyond our reckoning (get into Chaos theory and fractels to get a basic grasp of this idea. In fact, you may learn something directly from fractels that supports the mathematical and possible historical validity of said video presentation). In this spirit, I congratulate Acesover for uncovering the sacred ties between theology, life, and baseball. Quite a rant, I know, but I never observed that fundamantalism leads to anything resembling the truth. perceptions (and experementation) can lead to somewhat useful notions about our universe. That is all. Forgive me if I sound a little like a post-modernist. Acesover, ya just pushed my buttons. I could rant on this for hours. Later maybe. I have to go.
Beware of this and that.

How many angels can sit on the head of a pin?
fraughton, You mention time. In so mentioning I am glad you mention it in the framework of "perception of time". Just as my first statement or rather question in this post I believe it is a question that cannot be answered with complete agreement (much less agree if angels actually exist). You mention different viewpoints can have logical validiity. Yes they can and they are just that viewpoints, they are not even theeories. Theories usually have facts sent forth to form a possible conclusion whereas viewpoints are again just that viewpoints. Viewpoints take thought up ideas that can have no scientific origin and make them into something that sounds plausible. While this is a good jumping off point it should not be taken seriously until one can at least make an arguement for a theory. Once a theory is established it now has to be proven to be able to exist in all circumstances before it can become a law. This is a great beer and pretzel topic that can go on and on. AS you stated and I quote, "Acesover, ya just pushed my buttons. I could rant on this for hours". I think you are wrong in using the timeframe of hours this could go on for a much longer span than a few hours. As I started to respond to your post I realized after a few sentences that I am not able to put into words any kind of response that would satisfy me. There is not enough space on this forum or enough of my time (whatever that is)or in my case enough knowledge to do this topic justice. Again I think it would be a fantastic discussion in person (including Gede nibo) with some alocholic beverages thrown in for good measure. John (acesover)

I guess we'll have to wait a few more years to see. Personally, I'll be very happy to wake up on December 22, 2012 whether the world has ended or not. I live right. The hell with you all. Heh, heh, heh.
What would Wavy do?

John,
We are in agreement. We should get together with Baba, some fine drink, and a great topic. Years would be more appropriate than hours, and I fear that our lifetimes would be insufficient to do justice to this topic. In addition to the topic at hand, I beleive Gede's antics would keep us going for a very long time. Well, I guess we have until 2012 to bring the discussion to a conclusion. In regards to theories vs. viewpoints, I regard science as a broad (and elegant)branch of philosophy, and philosophy is made of viewpoints with backing arguements (and sometimes theories). Philosophical dialogues might be a more apt description of what interests me more than (strictly) theory here. I had intended to approach the topic from a broad viewpoint, not specifically as one that would be specifically embraced or precluded by current science. Please forgive my lengthy reaction to your post. I felt that I detected insult to my beloved colleagues, but in reflection, you might not have intended the tone I perceived; my aplogies. As to how many angels can sit on the head of a pin: it depends on if you are asking a particle physicist, or a theologian, but their answers are often sounding more alike these days. Now, let's get Baba. I have a bottle and a grill for this topic.
Beware of this and that.

Fraughton,
We both know there is nothing to forgive. As a matter of fact I very much enjoyed your response. In fact I am flattered that you responded. What made this a short but interestinig discussion is that it was not a flame war but civilized discussion. Now as you stated bring on Baba and the bottle.
