If you ever get the chance to go to Carson City, Nevada, then go to the state museum. It's just a few blocks north of the Capitol building. All the Carson City Mint stuff is there and they have a complete collection of every coin (gold and silver) ever minted in ol' CC. Neat stuff.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

While you are in Carson City look for the 6" 6' 300lb man and shake his hand, because he is most likely our dear banned for life friend MagicSanta. A trip to Virginia City may leave you light headed because it is at top of a mountain.

Banned for life? Holy crap.
That Museum also has a neat little fake Mining Tunnel you go through. Less scary that the real ones I can attest to! A cut away map of Virginia City is also a bit scary...the entire town sits on a THIN shell of ground completely under mined with a huge mass of tunnels and op-en spaces dug out of the earth. One good earth shake and she down in the hole. Great little town though! Terific bars. Bucket Of Blood Saloon being the must have a beer there stop.

The Bucket of Blood Saloon was where the "working girls" of Virginia city hung out back in the old days. The gold mined from the Comstock load literally paid off the debt that we incured from the civil war. We need another Comstock load today to make my 401k worth anything.

It amazed me how such a little town held such a wealth of history. One might think that the big cities hold that ace, but the older I get, the more I realize that the real work is done in the little towns.
Virginia City is next. I'll drag my kids along with me for that one. I had a falling-out with ol' Santa. As far as I'm concerned, he's welcome to climb those mountains looking for his gold. Nuff said.
