Hi.
Is there an Instant Download or eBook on how to make your own 20th Century Silk (and also 20th Century Panties)?

It's pretty self-explanatory, have you never owned a set?

We don't have Instant Downloads, but we do have e-Books that we e-mail you within 24 hours upon purchase. In the category of 20th Century Silks, we have Eleazar Goodenough's "Every Century Silks" in The Wizards' Journal #8.
http://www.magicnook.com/wizJ08/wj0802.htm We will soon will have available an e-Book I am currently working on called "Free Will 21st Century Silks" that is scheduled to appear in The Wizards' Journal #17. But if you need to start from the beginning, you should get The Rice Encyclopedia of Silks (Volume 2) which has a chapter containing many different versions of the effect.

I vote with Spellbinder. For serious silk magic, a set of Rice Silk encyclopedias is a first step.
Exposure is not a function of The Magic Café. We fully expect you to invest in your own tricks, instructions and props. For prop builders there is a section here on The Café. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander PS --- All silk in South Africa is imported. You will incur shipping costs anyway. |

I wasn't hoping or expecting for exposure, I simply wanted to know if there if there is an Instant Download (like the ones sold on PenguinMagic) that will teach you how to make the props for 20th Century Silk. Thanks for the suggestion of the book from both of you, I'll give it go.

You can find the cheapest versions of this for $10-$12 perhaps less in acetate and then use it for a template to make a better one out of silk. You will find that most times, this item almost costs as little as buying just the silks to make your own. The "panties", "bra", and silk versions pretty much work the same way. There are some clever tips and methods of handling this and that is generally suggestions by dealers. You can also find used sets online from time to time.

WV,
A key to recognizing the really poor models is that the gimmicked silk cannot be shown square and flat. Those that must be held by the corner usually flash pretty badly. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

It seems to me that when I was younger, several magic books in the children's section of the library told how to make Twentieth Century silks.

Still, the best reference is Rice's Silk Encyclopedia. The things you can do to modify a set is limitless.
