Ahhhhhhh just what I needed to end my week, another wonderful piece from my friend Broccoli! As always, I enjoy the touch of elegance you bring to your magic both in the handling as well the music scores you utilize! The music you employ here may be my all time favorite!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us Broccoli! My video library continues to grow and your work now makes up a sizable portion! All the best my friend, Mick |

LF is quite correct - the trick was completely incomprehensible. The only reason I was able to partially follow it is because I've watched David Roth do the original portable hole.
You have 3 choices 1. Talk 2. Subtitles 3. Simplify You're still drawing far too much attention to sleights and every move is clearly that, a MOVE. |

James Alan,
I'm glad you agree with me. I edited the video because I got a pm which I did not like, that is what happens when one tries to give honest advice. But this is what I wrote earlier: broccoli, I am gonna be honest with you. I have a hard time undertanding your tricks almost all of them,i highly suggest you add a presentation to your tricks and subtitles that way people have an idea of what you are trying to show them. Your set up it's always too dark, like in this trick I can not even see the portable whole, your slieghts, moves are too slow, slow enough that the audience could almost tell. It is good to perform slow, but your pace is just tooo slow. And as I already wrote,it is a bad habit to upload videos without presentation, one or two is fine ,but not all of them, especially close up tricks like this one; once you get used to upload videos without presentatation you forget about presentation and that is really what magic is all about by the end of the day. I just do not have an idea what you were doing, even though I have seen Dave Roth and Giacomo Bertini's tricks, yours is completely incomprehensible. Work on that and you'll be better performer in due time, you already have the slights, moves. my 00.2. this is what I wrote earlier. |

Broccoli,
Enjoyed watching your performance. The retention vanishes need to be a bit smoother, but time and practice will take care of that. Keep up the good work.

It seems to me that before giving advise one might at least learn the proper spelling of what you advise! It's SLEIGHTS not slieghts or slights!
Just MY 2 cents, Mick |

Dear all,
Thank you for throwing the word for me. Naturally, I have been perplexed by it. People's hows to receive it are also different depending on the word. Therefore, I think that writing to everyone as no misunderstanding in comprehensible writing is manners as the adult. I almost misunderstood... Certainly, the method of my video might be dark. However, because my character is not dark, you do not misunderstand it. And, I am not doing magic like that though you might have felt in showing off the technique. About this subject, it is easy to request understanding from the spectator if it certainly talks or the title is put up. Yes, it's easy to make it understand if Talk and Subtitles are selected. However, I want you to understand my activity is continued because I do not want to do it. So, I will improve the routine as you can understand simplify. Please forgive the obstinacy of me who can write only such an answer. P.S. Because I have been using this name for about five years, it is not easy to change it...It could be good if I do some what. Regards. Broccoli. |

Dear LF,
I do not think that you are hater, and do not reject it. I wish to express my gratitude for your frank opinion. And, I want to accept a lot of various opinions, and to grow up as much as possible. Naturally I accept your opinion. However, I want to continue this activity none as for any word. Because...If the word is not understood, cannot magic be understood?...If the language cannot be read, cannot magic be understood?...No...it must be not so. My expression technique might be insufficient. However, it is regrettable to bend this belief. Therefore, aim at a routine simplify. I do not hate you. I nothing but respect it in appreciation for you. Regards. Broccoli. |

Well I found it easy enough to follow ,so you must be doing some think right.I also thought your handling was very smooth ..The only thing I would say is that you should have used a different coloured close up matt to highlight the portable hole.
But apart from that keep em coming. |

I think what would really help Broccoli is if we could see your face. Humans rely on facial expressions to determine intent and mood. Without seeing your eyes we have no idea where your focus is or where ours should be. Of course the use of body language helps to fill in gaps but you are motionless except for your arms when you use hand gestures. This is like speaking every fourth word and expecting somone to understand what you are trying to say.
Magic can be understood without words but again without the proper body language clues we are still speaking a foreign language. I will finish with a negative and then a positive comment. first negative. The retention of vision vanish needs to be cleaned up a lot. while there is no noticeable movement in the right hand it appears as if you are concealing it there because of the amount of time the two hands are together. Now for the positive Your use of subtlety in the opening production is to be commended. I truly enjoy watching magic when someone understands it like you do. You us the priciple wonderfully to lead the viewer into a visual trap and the final production fooled me. Bravo! Continue working, learning and respecting the art of magic and you will do very well. |

Dear JTW,
I am glad for your help. I understood good and bad point from comprehensible writing. There might have the misunderstanding because I'm not native speaker and the second language is not English. However, I want to study a lot of English. And, I want to make communications in the difficult world where the face is not seen. I'm sorry in such me... Broccoli. |

Broccoli,
You have an elegant style of presentation that is very refreshing. I wish more young magicians understood that not every routine needs to be rushed and set to rock music. Be encouraged that your sleights are being caught because we’re an audience of magicians. As Father Photius mentioned, you just need a little work. Your retention vanish needs to be a little smoother in your Single Cup and Ball routine for example, but other than that I say bravo young sir. Well done. I particularly enjoyed your Spellbound routine. Very graceful! All the best, Dave

Thank you Mr.Hearttau.
Like your point, I want to improve my retention vanish smoothly. And, I was impressed to express that you were graceful. I want to have the belief not controlled by someone though I am still young Padawan. I do not reject anybody. But, I have my world. My heart and magic do not be rushed. Someone says it that the slow, and someone...graceful. Someone might come to like that world...If you enjoy it, I am glad. I keep studying though it might be poor sentences... Regards. Broccoli. |

I thought it was pretty good. As the ROV issue has been mentioned a few times, the only other problem for me was that I couldn't see the portable hole except when it was picked up.
Oh, and definitely show your face on the video. Ultimately a human being is a lot more interesting than coins, a purse frame and a portable hole, even if the items are 'magical'. |
