The funnel cake comes from Pa., cheese steaks, soft pretzels. Doesn't anybody eat spagetti, and home made meatballs? My mother told me to stay away from the medegons because they live on TV dinners, and fruit loops. I'm beginning to suspect that mom was right.

Food is always a good incentive.

Maybe you were too passive, and not active enough, in your invitation.

Hehehe! Smile

Hehehe No problem.. what are you intersted in having? You name it, we can get it.=)

I really do mean it. My wife and I have a great new home and our home is always open for any magician who is in our area. We would love to have folks here and can think of it as a nice home away from home.

in many cases that holds true.

Gigmasters and GigSalad bring in all levels of work. The ones fighting the bidding wars are the acts that can't separate themselves from the competition.

Just like in any other area of business - if you can create distance between yourself and the competition - you stand a good chance at getting the date if the client is worried more about the event than the budget.

If saving money is on their mind - the client is usually looking for a bargin. When they are concerned with the quality of the event - that is the client I want to work with.

WOW - Curtis - we agreed on something... Smile

You are so right. Those that think only the cheapest bidder wins do not understand the way the game is played, if I get one out of ten customers I am way ahead of the game, besides I dig the action. I think I just talked myself into joining.

Absolutely correct. It is about positioning yourself right and knowing who you are and what you offer and showing that clearly in your profile. I have been getting some answers to a few questions form people using Gigsalad and think it may be a good think for my wife and I as well. It is not peicey and one gig pays the entire year off easily. Will work on that this week.

You are 9 in a google search, and I am 10. Of course you realize I have to use my "A" material like the Phillies used their ace reliever tonight just watch my smoke at google for the new year.

Al. That is perfectly fine with me my friend. =) Plenty enough room at the top. I just keep trying to do my best with SEO and all aspects of my marketing. I will continue to do that into 2009 with new goals and new action plans I have marked up in my studio/office. Iam just very pleased and happy with how far Kelly and I have come this year. With moving to a new area and into a new home, and still being able to market effectively and have a great year.. is just amazing to us.

There's a lot discussion here about web site rankings and cheesteaks, but not much about Gig Salad. Smile

So, let me ask you Gig Salad folks a question. Is anyone using their Professional’s Package (the one you have to pay $14.99 a month for)?

I’ve gotten a few of gigs from Gig Salad using their free listing, I’m just wondering if the monthly service is worth it. I’m doubting it.

I have been there for about three weeks...but not a single lead. I don't know if it is because I am on the "free" package or if there really isn't any action here.

I joined GigSalad so long ago I'm not sure what package I have. Originally probably a less expensive test run, but I remember upping the package last year and adding the extra feature ads, etc. There isn't nearly as much traffic through GigSalad. I go months without a lead but I am also in a very narrow category and do not cross the definition of what I do. (Unlike some who want to be listed in as many categories as possible.) For me, even with the low inquiry rate, its always more than paid for itself.

I've gotten a few leads over the last couple of years through the free service. Unfortunately the people I interacted with were mostly bargain shoppers and very few turned into actual shows. I also found that a lot of people contacted me for kid's shows even though I don't do them.

I got one show from gig salad. Signed up for the paid, and got a bunch of non-responders. Canceled after the month. Same for adwords.
