Hi.

I'm looking for a good quality, but cheap spongeball set that contains more than just 4 balls at a time (and different colours and sizes). Any suggestions?

How about Steve Darci's Spongeball Toolkit from Magic by Gosh?

I got that, but I need spongeballs, rabbits, etc only. The Toolkit is very good though!

Let me ask this as well, how long can a set of 4 spongeballs last?

If you have the Dacri set, then I just suggest that you pick up packages of various colors and shape on their own. Magic by Gosh has a very big and varied selection and the beauty of sponge products is the low price.
That is the best I can recommend I'm afraid.
Best of luck. And post here if you find anything interesting.

Includes purse frame that is normally $4+, I ordered 2 of these and they are great.

If you already have a standard set then you should be thinking of what it is you want to do with your routine before you just pick up a kit. Don't just pick something up to have it in case, unless you're collecting. Think of what would be nice to do and then pick up the appropriate items seperately, there aren't a lot of choices out there as far as a kit with multiple items aside things with coin purse frames and dvd's in them and maybe a TT.

Some shops sell sponge balls in bulk and in different colors, it's possible someone might make up a custom bag or box of balls for you. Frank Starsini, who is a member here, has a shop called The Ambitious Card.

I noticed that he has a large selection of sponge balls available in the tricks section of his site. You could PM him and tell him what you’re looking for. You might need to by a bulk bag but you can never have too many sponge balls.

As far as how long they last. It depends on quality; I recommend Goshman, and how often you handle them. On average, I’d guess six months but your mileage may vary. Also, if you have sweaty hands or drop them often they tend get dirty or stained. So again, it depends.

All the best,

As far as how long they last color and how often they are used are huge factors. Reds last longer than say yellows which fade out really fast. I use spongeballs in a restaurant at least 30 times a week so a regular set of four will last me about two weeks ( I use green ) before the colors start to get icky looking.

If you are a pro, and you use sponge balls regularly, you should do two things:

1) buy them in bulk -- bags of 50 balls
2) learn how to dye them yourself.

You can resurrect old sponge balls by washing them and dyeing them. One bottle of Rit or Diamond dye will do a whole lot of sponge balls.
