I was a looking at the list of artists on my ipod and it is a real reflection of my taste in music.
1. Little Feat 2. Raul Malo 3. Elton John 4. Bob Dylan 5. Warren Zevon 6 (the great) Jackie Wilson 7. Joni Mitchell Each of these artists have over 20 songs on my ipod, except for Little Feat which has about 70 songs. I will never forget the time I met (the late) Lowell George in a men's room between shows at a theater. He must have thought I was gay, because I followed him around the room talking to him like a fool.

You have a very hip list. You add them one at a time, and before you know it you have a consensus. I don't think anyone else has more Jackie Wilson than I do, and I didn't even know that he was one of my favorites.

Mario del Monaco, the opera tenor from the 40's - 60's.
On a side note, I always felt that "Mario del Monaco" was one of the greatest - if not *the* greatest - stage names of all time.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

The object of an ipod is to only copy the SONGS that you like the best. It seems that you have the whole catalog of some artists. THe Buena Vista Social Club only has two CD's. IMHO PS- I'll be looking for you tomorrow at MM4 be there or be square.

Hey Al,
Jamie has done at least 3 albums. I have 2. Twentysomething and Pointless Nostalgic. I really think he is one of the greatest young musicians to come along in years. If you like him, check out my new favorite singer, Melody Gardot. |

I spoke to Melody Gardot in the Keswick theater at a Phil Roy concert last year. She is a very young girl from the Philly suburbs, and quite friendly too. Have you heard any of the Jamie Lidell tunes? I like "Multiply" Kevin I'll never forget seeing Jackie Wilson on stage in 1965. I remember it like it was yesterday. You know Jackie was a middle weight fighter, and his dancing on stage was incomperable. Michael Jackson learned all of his moves from Jackie. The Jackson 5 were his warm up act, before he had a massive career ending stroke on stage. Jackie also took a bullet in the chest when he was caught in a motel room with another man's wife. My favorite Jackie Wilson song is "Reet Petite"

The night I saw Jackie Wilson the women in the front row tore off his shirt, and I saw the scar from the bullet wound on his left side. I used to go to the Up Town theater when I was 15 years old. Often times I was the only white person in the theater.
