// One signed card visually rises...
Dan Hauss - the creator that brought you Redline, Flow, LIT, and Sleeping Queens - presents a visual miracle. One signed card slowly, visually rises from the middle of the deck all the way to the top - in the most fair, clean, and fluid manner imaginable. A card is selected from the deck and signed. It is left outjogged in the middle of the pack. Slowly and visually, the signed card moves up through the deck, penetrating the remaining cards in a visual display entirely under your control at all times. + You then hand the signed card back for complete examination. Our second release from the mind of Dan Hauss, RIOT was filmed and taught in high definition. Every nuance is covered in complete detail. This feature length, 28 minute 1-on-1 video also includes an additional handling and presentation wherein the signature itself visually jumps to the top of the deck in the blink of an eye. Instant and visual - this is how the rising card SHOULD look. Everything looks clean, clear, and natural - and the angles are extremely easy to manage. Learn it, love it, and use it wisely. This is RIOT. http://www.theory11.com/tricks/riot.php Just got this new Instant download over at Theory11. Its pretty cool. |

As much as I like Dan Hauss, the day I pay for an instant download to further clog up my harddrive is the day I throw myself into the polar bear exhibit at the Pittsburgh Zoo.
The 1-on-1 concept may be fine for some, but I much prefer the hard copy DVD. Buying new shelves is always going to be cheaper than buying a new external harddrive. |

Have you checked hard drive prices lately? I'd much rather buy a new 1TB hard drive than a new bookshelf or DVD rack...

A shelf just sits there and is uncomplicated. The same can be said of plastic storage bins and cardboard boxes.
A harddrive is a sophisticated piece of modern technology, meaning it is a glowing lump of Murphy's Law waiting to happen. Call me a Luddite if you will, but I'll just keep using my computer to run my website, play video games, and watch porn. |

Theory11´s downloads can be played on different computers and I think you can burn them onto a dvd.
I always transfers them onto my mp3 player, and it does not seem to be copy protected. |

Call me stubborn, but I still prefer to just cut out the issue of dealing with a cloud of 1s and 0s and just buy a DVD.

I just got this today. I had a hard time getting it to play on my computer but I got it to work. So far I think this is pretty clever and a very good idea. It does use a gimmick unlike Danial Garcia's version. I have not tested this out on anyone yet. I am gonna show this to someone tomorrow and see how it goes.

I got it. It does owe a debt to Paul Harris, in fact Paul helped Dan with this effect.
The gimmick is okay. And I think it definitely makes for some compelling visual images for a demo video like the one they posted. However, getting into and out of the effect is very wonky. Dan himself isn't very smooth with the gimmick and you don't see any live performance footage of the effect from start to finish. I like the thinking behind it, but I think the gimmick has not been refined enough to make the handling smoother and make this a real worker. |
