Why should I purchase Riot if it is not convincing to pull off? After all the slogan of the Café is magicians helping magicians and this is exactly what you are doing.

Thank you but I think Riot looks rather good too! Humbug is essentially a vanishing deck and I feel plays stronger as a vanishing deck although you can do Riot effect with it also.
Angelo.

Riot doesn't require a deck switch.

I think riot is quit practical, you will have to do something and bring out the gimmick but with some missdirection you can do it as you bring out the sharpie.

I would say that the effect looks a little better in the preview video with all the added effects and everything but you can make it look good as well. The rise is just as smooth as in the video.
Since its a gimmick I would say that they could not look really close to the deck before the rise, they might notice something. But if you insert the card and then starts to shake the deck like in the video, noone will notice anything. I would say with some creativity and some better presentation then he gives you in the video, this is a very good effect. Still, this is nothing I would to if I were performing table hopping or strolling. |

Can you incorporate it into an ACR? As a pre-climax to card- in wallet or to ceiling.

I think nothing comes close to Escalator although that one is done in the box. But that still can be played as even more impossible since the cards are in the box and that precludes any sleight of hand.

Then do a simple card to pocket while you go and retrieve the card from your pocket do a deck switch in another pocket. Then you set to do whatever you want. This can be done in a walk around setting it not really all that angle sensitive just a little but no mor then a tenkai. I think its a good idea but I'd practice it for a little bit first.

I got Riot after the demo blew me away. I had fallen and wasn't impressed with the practicality or angles. I don’t perform the ambitious card because I have never liked the traditional endings and always wanted something that completely blew the socks off. I have seen various gimmicks and cards out there. I have practiced Raise Rise until my hands bleed. I have seen Gaetons the Elevator, I have made Daryl’s gimmick, I have done the pop up, I have used my Mullica wallet and so I have have seen them all. They are no where near as POWERFUL or as VISUAL as this...
Up until now I have NEVER and I mean NEVER seen a card rise as amazing as this one. It is awesome!! It was so awesome that I had doubts that it would be practical or if it just looked that good in the demo... After setting up the gimmick and going through the handlings I settled on the rubber band rise in the normal mechanics grip (the deck is wrapped in a rubber band. I routined it straight into my ambitious card routine with Riot as the finish. I can tell you that you should NOT buy this!!! Please don’t buy it. It is so practical and completely genius!!! It can be done live and the angles are not bad at all, there are hardly any angles to be quite frank. All I can say is that the first time I performed it on my girlfriend her eyes popped out her head, the first time I did it on my brother he almost had a heart attack and the first time I did it on my magic buddy he was shell shocked, as in amazed like he hasn’t been in the last 15 years of doing magic. Do not buy it... the less people that have this and do it the better for me!! This is by far my favorite effect to date. From not liking the Ambitious card I now love it love it love it. Dan Hauss it a complete genius. With a little thought you can routine this into a much better handling than the one he teaches. I think he does it that way to throw off all the ellusionist kids… I do a 4 phase ambitious card routine and end with RIOT. If I was him I would have never released it. You can win FISM with this effect. It is utterly amazing and completely practical. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. 12 out of 10! Hands down!! |

I watched the demo and it didn't show the rise. Just choppy vuideo flashes.

How does riot compare to this.
http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.php?productid=6931 From my understanding the gimmicks are pretty close. |
