Hi,
I'll going to do street mentalism in my town in a few weeks. For the moment, I only do that at my job place:) So, I try to list some effects to show. I think I 'll do Patrick Kuffs rubbik cube effect, an effect similar to kioku but with my own adaptation, a revelation of bill serial number and mentalist presentation of Exile, for the others I don't know for the moment. Do you perform street mentalism and what are the effects you choice? |

SAW wallet complete with heirloom, thought reader card, you know who card, psi card, kioku cards, sanctum card, mental yarn cards, and age test cards. That's a lot of cards!

The Panther Outlaw will surely do the job a lot better. Also try the Brainwave Deck, Mental Epic, Hoy Book Test and Psychokinetic with silverware. |

The telethought wallet by Chris Kenworthy is pretty good.
http://www.shopmagicvault.com/Telethough......268.html I do like the Thought Transmitter - if you are doing daytime street work, the light wont be an issue. http://www.shopmagicvault.com/Thought-Tr......271.html Both offer advantages and disadvantages. The Telethought offers a clean peek with no light worries. However, if dropped or turnd the wrong way, it may expose the peek method The Thought Transmitter offers a GREAT peek in well lit conditions. Any level of darkness makes this a poor prop to use. Both offer the ability to allow the spec to secure the wallet from opening with a rubberband - adding false sense of security. I use both and tend to use the Thought Transmitter more for street work.

Magicianroger, Loops for street work sounds good but I'm curious as to what thread to use for the loops. Seems a lot of people try using loops outdoors and find they are flashing the thread due to the light. I've been looking into loops for outdoor work. I just ordered ithread which would be different since it isn't elastic and therefor less likely to flash.

I do a couple card prediction/revelations. Don Alans Big Deal and ashes on the palms. Get GOOD reactions. I've had people want me to tell their future after that. I'd like to add spoon bending. Not sure how to work it in. Women LOVE mentalism on the street. I haven't even tried that stuff with a guy. Go for the girls.

Direct light is horrible for loops, nuff said.
Patrick Kuffs rubbik cube effect has bombed on me 3 times. The first two times I was shocked people could figure out how I was doing it, but then I realized that is the solution to solving a cube so it's not too amazing. |

Here is one I learned long ago if you have a crowd of at least six strangers.
"I would attempt a demonstration of mental mystacism for you fine folks, but one here has a mind to be somewhere else - a heart to be free. I see a child - laughing - playing on a swing - running, dancing on the grass. Which one of you is there right now?" More than 90% of the time someone will raise his/her hand. Some of the others will glance about, or giggle. If not, then say, "Ah -- it is I. Some memories are always with us!" Then go into whatever efect you choose -- their attention will be yours.
"the more one pretends at magic, the more awe and wonder will be found in real life." Arnold Furst

Mind reading and metal bending.
I was invited to do mentalism on streets in a tv show a couple of years ago, I'm not proud of it as I had my stage clothing on (that was strange) and I changed a bit my aproach to mentalism, anyway - the effects I chose that time were killers, unfornutally they didn't include everything I did, on the video you can see some mind reading (number prediction, quick book test) and metal bending. Metal bending plays well on streets.. Sorry about my english, but hope you enjoy my portuguese in the video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewDyGWjkTSo |
