The Rock will be speared. Good to see that they are brining in the good talent from WCW now if the story lines will only get better.

I stopped watching wrestling 7 years ago or so. It just kind of ran out of steam. The plots were getting more ludicrous and the writing increasingly worse. If you were a fan back in the day and want a laugh I highly recommend visiting http://www.wrestlecrap.com for a nostalgia trip.

Wrestling use to be FAKE.
Why is that folding chair ,or trash can always by ringside? and that breakaway table. Nevertheless, wrestling is still great entertainment. vinny |

I used to watch wrestling in the early days..but then again, I also used to believe in Father Christmas!
Howard How come in boxing one punch and they are out cold, yet in wrestling they get repeatedly elbowed in the face, jumped on thrown across the ring and still manage to get up? |

Wrestlers are obviously tougher. (and they don't get paid as much to take dives)( I think they get paid by the hour ) I used to watch WWF, when I found out that one of the heavies, bambam bigelow, vader, or somebody, was a guy I knew from grade school. We moved around a lot, so I couldn't nail down exactly who. Therefore I'd watch to see if I could recognize him. Never was sure, but it was fun anyway. Got to meet "Andre the Giant" once after a match in Dayton one night. I was the night auditor at the Dayton Airport Inn, and he checked in a little after I came on at midnight. HE WAS HUGE. Extremely soft spoken, and polite. Somebody you'd like to have as a friend. I put a call through to his room from a (from the sound of her voice) petite lady with a beautiful french canadian accent. I had her pictured as about 5'1" She also sounded very nice, and polite. I'll bet they made a cute couple. Rest In Peace Andre. Steve |

I'm all for people watching wrestling, as long as they understand that it is not real. If they don't understand that, then I consider them dangerous and avoid any physical contact (remember, they think that they can hit you over the head with a peice of 2x4, a chair, and their elbow with little harm done!!).
If you understand that it is not real, then you can watch it for the ludicrous plots, the funny expressions, the fanatical fans and the sheer skill, fitness and coordination of the wrestlers.
The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. Whoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes are

I used to be a fan a few years ago, but it seemed I was seeing the same old story lines every time the show came on. They just used different characters. So, I quit watching and am happier for it.
If anyone sees my sanity, please return it to
me. |

It's one of the biggest piles of ***** to be found on television. How sad are those in the audience with the banners cheering on the actors? You'd be as well sitting at home watching a cartoon, cheering on Scooby Doo.

I do agree that the standard of wrestling has deteoriated these days, but I have to admit that the last survivor series match between HHH and HBK Shawn Michaels was great!

I used to edit & publish a newsletter on wrestling back in the 80's, and actually got to step into the ring as a manager and a wrestler a few times. The newsletter covered wrestling from an inside point of view and didn't try to hide the fact that it was "fake."
Wrestling is fake?!?! And magic isn't?!?! There are a lot of similarities between wrestling and magic, mainly the exposure issue. It used to be that if wrestlers exposed the ring work to outsiders, they'd often find themselves getting "stretched" (hurt for real) in the ring. Because of that, when they talked with me, it had to be a hush hush deal till I finally gained the trust of some of the promoters (like Bill Watts). Anyway, I got fed up with wrestling because behind the scenes, it was a really sleazy business. I stopped watching altogher the night that HHH had sex with the corpse. I figured that if Vince had that bad of taste to air that, nothing was sacred. I don't miss it at all. |

It did seem to be more fun a Long time ago. Now I don't know What they are turning it into. Whatever it's becoming is sure aimed at an interesting group.
You are right, it is a mess, and we are better off not watching. Steve zzz Doesn't everybody Cheer on Scooby |

And after all that, a good friend just emailed me that Elizabeth, Randy Savage's ex-wife, was found dead yesterday. First signs, although they're waiting on toxicology reports, are that she died of an overdose.
Sleezy business, I tell ya. |

Yes, apparently, she died in the house of Lex Luger. He has so far been charged with no crimes.

Hey, did you see last night when Goldberg and Austin drank beers in the ring? Looks like that match we all want to watch will be postponed for a while. But hey, it was cool.
And, I met Andre once, and he was a teddy bear, but could turn over a Cadillac full of five 250 lb. men like you flip a mattress. I watched a biography show on him, and he used to act as a jack for his dad!!!:wow: Talk about huge.

WWE is old and tired, I'm really getting sick of it.
I've been watching NWA-TNA(Total Nonstop Action) and it is much better. It has some familiar names, Jeff Jarrett, Glen Gilberty(DISCO INFERNO), SABU, NEW JACK, SANDMAN, Delow Brown showed up 2 days after he was fired from wwe, saturn and a bunch of really talented newcommers and wreslters from other areas. It's only on PPV (9.95) on wednesday nights at 5pm pacific. It's worth a look and it's cheaper than a wwe ppv. By the way, if a ONE LEGGED wrestler shows up in the wwe, his first pro match was in the NWA in march. |

They must be hitting the bottom of the storyline barrel...I mean they are pulling out the real old stuff now.
When the WCW told Hollywood Hulk Hogan he couldn't wrestle anymore he switched to the Original Hulk Hogan...Now Hulk can't wrestle as Hulk so, now he is The American!!! I think they need to fire the writers and get new ones in with fresh ideas. And on another point -- is it me or are the only people that were on the tough enough shows that are now actually on WWE shows the ones from the first tough enough? Wonder what happended to the others? Have a good weekend all. :hotcoffee: |

Well, I love to watch wrestling. I know all is scripted, but that's not the point. I mean, if you wish to watch real wrestling, then you can just find it next to your nieghborhood back alley, where some punks are defintely getting in there.
But I watch it for entertainment, comedy, action, some stupid painless finishing moves(people's elbow?). just a few penny for my thoughts, and now if you smelllllllllllllll....lalalalalalal!!!!!! what the Rock is cooking!!!!!!
never try, never know
