At least we aren't guilty of the "everybody panic" reaction we saw the first time this guy aired a show.
He can expose any trick he likes ... the next day any competent performer could perform the same effect before an audience who'd seen the show, and fool 'em, PLUS he would entertain them as well. |

I thought his real secret was him being in the closet...

The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

A: Nine times out of ten they aren't the real secrets, or else there are plenty of alternate methods.
B: Nine and a half times out of ten (this is from personal experience) you can get away with murder right in front of 'em because they either aren't paying attention, or don't know where to look (misdirection isn't hard when they're clueless). C: The shows are as insubstantial as candy - in the morning they've forgotten them, and all that remains is one more pound of mental flab. Seriously ... just try watching "American Idol" or "Dancing With the Stars" with the sound off ... that tiny "snap crackle pop" that you hear is the sound of your brain cells dissolving. |

I do not think it is bitterness at all. It is total greed. I know (from inside sources and close friends to Val) that he was approached because his manager had not paid back taxes while he was performing in Vegas all those years. The IRS came knocking and he needed a way out. This was the direction. I think now he greed has gone to his head as he feels it is easy money for him.
And I don't give a rat's ass if you like me posting it (re posting, and I don't even know/care if it's true.) Kyle, I stand by your statement. When we start being afraid of words we are in trouble.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Pop music degrades the art form. But there is a market.
Why wear a mask. Cuz it is cooler. this is hurting no one trust me. but for those who are down on the guy...he is probably making a crapload of money so I don't think he cares |

So who exposed his identity to the magic fraternity?
Question every rule.

I can't believe our family friendly filter allowed me to be that profane.
I found it very offensive, they shouldn't let them shove their filthy me down my throat!

I understand the concept of focusing on the magic rather than the tricks, but for stage magicians, it seems that no amount of showmanship is going to make people forget how Impaled works if they've seen it exposed. |
