Make yourself famous and successful. At the very least seeming more so than everyone else in the room at the time.
Copperfield, Blaine, McBride etc do not have problems picking up women imho...

Neil Strauss' book is very good but it is a biography not a method. Are you kidding? You find the book in the biography section of the bookstore, yes, and it is a bio on Neil, but the method Neil uses is undeniably there in the book. It's pretty common knowledge that the place to start learning pick-up is The Game. There is tons of info there. I can't imagine anyone reading it and feeling like all it was was a biography on Neil Strauss and that they didn't understand his method or techniques after they were done reading it. |

By his own admission, Neil Strauss' The Game is not a teaching manual or "how-to" book.
Calling it a "biography" isn't particularly accurate either BTW, it's a book about his experiences with the seduction community and lifestyle. |

Did anyone notice how many drinks Yasmine had during the first disc?
It almost seem like Spidey said, "free drinks if you sit in on this taping." They were both drinking during the entire discussion and they were both slouching at the end. I think he spoke very fast and the sound quality could have been better. The lone camera angle did get old along with the annoying repeat track. I got bored of watching her knee and his constant touching of it, or perhaps I was just jealous. Lol. There were some informative ideas, but I was hoping for more thoughts on NLP and Hypnotism of which there was scant little offered. There was absolutely nothing original in the material. The strategy for getting her number was to mention facebook and then write down her first name, a place for an email and phone number on a blank card and then handing it to her to fill in the blanks. Apparently Yasmine is a "wingman" according to Spidey, so she never went against his opinions nor offered her insight into the ideas offered. She pandered to his ideas and I really wanted to hear more of her thoughts on the material. I didn't agree with his tip to take the woman's bracelet and then punish her, by not returning it or confiscating the drink you purchased for her, if she doesn't go along with your "speech strategies". Poor advice in my opinion and also very disrespectful. I will agree that this is certainly not cheesy like Sankey's disc. Spidey does seem like a very suave and respectful gentleman. This dvd will help the person who has absolutely no "game", but if you are entertaining folks with your magic, you should already have "game" to ineract with both men and women. I give it a 7 out of ten. I will review the material on disc two soon. |

I hesitate to jump in here, but as a scientist I feel I should at least take one shot. NLP has been around since the 1970s. There is no scientific evidence that any of these techniques work. There has been a fair amount of study in this area, and outside of unproven claims and anecdotal stories, there is simply no proof that these techniques have any effect.
That said, people are free to buy/sell whatever they like. There are entire markets open for all sorts of non-scientifically proven sciences, techniques etc. Placebo effects are real. So can NLP, homeopathy, fill in New Age magick of you choosing, have an effect? Sure. Does this make is scientifically valid? No. If you view it as entertainment and enjoy it -- more power to you. Just understand what is science and what is hope/belief. Nothing wrong with the latter. If you want to "pick up women" I would suggest, get a good job, get a sense of humor, get taller and better looking. These techniques pretty fool proof! Self confidence is a big factor -- so if buying this gives you self confidence, it may help regardless of the "sciencyness" (thank you Colbert) of the actual material. OK /rant off. And thanks for reading. |

I have to agree with Bande here. I've written quite a few things on the subject (you'd be surprised how much money can be made ghosting e-books on dating, attracton and NLP). What usually isn't stressed is that having an NLP style script doesn't have to work so much on the "victim" as it does on the practitioner. The guy using it has to believe in it.
In the same way we can gain confidence in a scripted magic routine, or by purchasing the latest "must have" perfect trick, having a clear plan going in is a confidence booster for dating. Eventually, you get past the script and better at riffing your own stuff. But meanwhile, the script gives you structure and a recipe -- first I do this, then this, then that or the other. It really isn't any different than when a phone solicitor calls you. They have a script to follow that hits the highlights and guides them. And cold calling is at least as tough as dating. So, as long as you understand the ideas are meant to give you enough confidence to play the game with a chance of winning, it's worth a shot. Not as good as a nondescript van and duct tape, but less likely to get you arrested. |
