I had mentioned that I was going through some odd behavior by my legs and ankles...ie: Hurt like hell and not able to walk very well after about 20 feet.
Finacilly we do ok I suppose...we eat well (too well?) and somehow seem to get the rent paid each month and the bills taken care of (down to the penny it seems each month)...but there really isn't enough to get the finer things in life or bigger ticket items like a Mobility Scooter that I really need to keep some kind of a life beyond the work bench going...they are expensive as you all know. So going to the parks was OUT for us in the future as I just can't do it anymore. Well...someone from this forum thru paypal, out of the blue, sent me the money to buy a scooter so we didn't have to rent them (very expensive!) on trips to the parks, Disneyland and Sea World. (I have a few free passes for Disneyland thanks to another KIND SOUL on the Café and we are annual pass holders , really cheap, at Sea World.) One day a month I take a day off and it is what we do for fun. That was about to end...BUT for...the Angel. Anyway I have an ANGEL in the UK who demanded to remain nameless. Well ok. But that was one hell of a gesture and it should be known that there ARE some pretty fine folks here on the Magic Café. Thank you from deep in my heart. What an incredible friend and 'customer'.

It's people like this that make life so wonderful. Congrats on getting your mobility back Doug - and to Anonymous - your generosity of spirit will make many people happy today - we all need to hear things like this. Destiny |

That was inspirational.
But now you've got to find a way to pay it forward Doug. It's the right thing to do. Lyndel |

Thanks all.
Lyndel...I attempt to 'pay it forward' as much as I can most every chance I get. I agree with the concept whole heartedly. I too keep it anon but there have been a few shows out there 'on me' pulling folks fat out of the fire so to speak. This 'act' by the mystery Angel was above and beyond...I'm still flabergasted. Normally I woldn't accept such a thing but I was not allowed to refuse...and it was presented as a 'Thank You' gift...good stuff ya know...

Holy s***!
Funny thing is as I started to read your story I thought "I would so buy him that scooter if I could" and then I got to the part where someone actually did get it for you and I smiled. That's awesome. To the individual who opened up their heart and wallet to help another person in need: you're a shining example of what the world needs more of. |

It's just Karma doing what it does Doug.
You have done a lot of good for a lot of people, myself included. I know that on at least one occasion you directly inspired me to help out someone when I had the means and they did not. It makes me happy that someone in a position to help was able to help improve your quality of life. To whomever it was that gave this generous gift...may their good deed be returned threefold. And a personal thanks from me for helping out one of my real world heros. Gwyd |

Thank you Gwyd for that my friend. Nice words.
The thing is this is not a rich person. Not in the least. A hard worker who sent installments! Really unbelievable to me...this person deserves so much respect and thanks I'm at a loss. He was my hero before this act anyway...but he didn't know that. My Wife says, 'tell 'em I need one too!' hahaha. (She was kidding) I do have a way planned to pay this person back in my own way that he can't refuse...no it's not a horse's head...

Doug,
You've done your share too. You know what is on the backs of some of my business cards: Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Thanks Jeff...it's terrific. Took it to Sea World and felt like the King. It's good to be the King. I have no idea why these great machines have to have a stigma attached. I wish I had had one years ago! I got the 'Drive' Odessey and it rode my butt around from morning till night and barely used a notch of the electric...the batteries were still strong at the end of the day...and I showed it no mercy either.
For the first time in many years at the end of a 13 hour park day...no hurt. It was great.
