Hi, does anyone own one of this? Can you give me some feedback, is it better then a chair suspension?

I had one ... Surrounded .. I don't think so ... and it only holds about 50m lbs before it starts to wobble ....I think the Mak Fying carpet is better .
This is a different illusion than the chair suspension .... What are you going to use it for ? What kind of shows ... I used one to levitate a Ventiloquist dummy for a season at the Palace of Wonder in Times Square NYC ..I was great for this but not for a lady .... |

For kids shows use the chair suspension. I however do not like the chair suspension personally. for soem reason I do not think kids really get what is happening. the parents all react well. I jsut do not like the fact I can not move the other chair.
however for stage shows, school shows, etc where you have some more space and can have it covered off to the side or an assitant wheel it out I woudl highly recomend a super X it will play much better. I do not own the Klamm model so I can not comment on this specific model. those are my thoughts and experiences. sam

I have one, and it's not bad for the price. The uprights should be reinforced, as they are flimsy (they fold for transport), or what's best is to build sturdier ones. I definitely wouldn't do this for a kiddy show unless you were on a stage, but in any case, watch your angles.

I have one without the supports. The ones that came with it were cardboard and got destroyed in storage. If you still want one I would sell it without the supports for $200 and you could make your own. I've used it in the past for publicity photos.

It would be best with the audience directly in front of you. Maybe 45 degrees

I have been using one for about five years. You can see it in my avatar.
The best thing about it is that it all breaks down for easy transportation. For $400 it is quite good. I use it to float my daughter. I have never experiences any wobbling. It does sag as the floatee gets on and off. I have found a few ways to compensate for this. If you are a touring pro, this is not for you. If you are a weekend warrior trying to add an illusion to your stage show this is great. Add a Blaney Great White Hoop, a fog machine and it can be a great illusion. This is not for birthday party shows. I would stick to stage. If you are expecting a Blaney Suspension for $400, you will be disppointed. Mike |

I had one many years ago...by Abbott. They still sell them, but at $750.00. Go to http://www.abbottmagic.com for a demo video.
Just $400,00? I would be suspect to a quality issue, unless you are getting one used. I watched a magician a few months back perform the Super X for a childrens show. Reaction was pretty good. (Klamn product...no hoop provided. Must buy your own.) |

Jack,
I'm going to PM you a VERY, very detailed review on the work with the Walk-a-Way, you may also wish to do a Café search, there are a lot of thoughts going back about four years here. Magically, Walt |

I have both the Super-X and a chair suspension. I use the chair suspension in almost every show. The Super-X is holding up a bunch of props in the basement. It's just not practical to lug around to every show.
