The folks at juggling.tv posted this link on rec.juggling a few days ago. I just took the time to view it - it's awesome and awe inspiring. One of the true masters of the art of juggling, Francis Brunn added his own style and technique to everything he did. Towards the end of the clip he performs a spinning ball on a ball on a mouthstick that I don't ever recall seeing before. Then, of course, is the Famous Brunn Finale ...

So here's the link for you all to witness, too.

Yeah,
I watched it when it was posted on Gatto's forum a few days ago. Very rare footage. Not the same stuff that we have all seen before. Unreleased on the internet up until now. One of the real advantages of the cyber age that we live in, is the fact that, with a click of your finger, you can be watching video of a rehearsal from one of the greatest jugglers that ever lived. I love having access to such a huge virtual vault of juggling and performing history. What a wonderful resource for ideas and inspiration.

About 18 years ago I took my wife to Washington DC to see Francis perform. He did about 15 minutes, but it was the greatest 15 minutes I ever saw. Aftre the show I asked him to pose with me for a picture, and he put his arm around my waist. My wife commented that he, and her were the same size. I commented to my wife that his girlfriend was 32 years old.

WELL, it's nice to see. His sister Lottie just died after a long battle with cancer. Unfortunately you just don't see a lot of jugglers performing this style anymore.

Just got around to watching this!! Great stuff!! The mouthstick work was really amazing. For a number of years I worked with a Chinese acrobat in NYC that did a Happy Chef act. Amazing mouthstick work with a wine bottle. Flip to catch on narrow end...spinning bottle...those darn Chinese.

Thanks Cap'n Mike
