I promised Brent I would not mention this until it was available. Well last night I got an email that said it is available through him before the release date of Dec something.
Anyway I pick up a copy at the unconventional convention. As you all know I am a huge fan of Brent's thinking and this effect lives up to that cleverness that is Brent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmRU1OBJwiU The best part is you do not even need a dart board. Brent told me you can do it into a tree, a fence or a wall. Pretty much anything you can stick a dart into. I am telling you this method is very clever and so easy. Shane |

Shane it seems to be true that magicians are horrible at keeping secrets.
Doc Eason picked up a copy of the DVD at the convention and I just got a very pleasant email from him and he had this to say. "I love this .. it is practical ... not very difficult. and the effect on the audience is crushing." -Doc Eason I have been getting nothing but great responses from everyone that has gotten one of the early release copies Of BULLSEYE. I do have a few copies left before the Dec 15th release date if you are interested in a prerelease copy pm me or email me at brent@decksliesandvideotape.com To answer some of the questions I seem to be getting in emails. No palming, no special deck, no special dart board, No secret assistants. The card can be signed, the dart can be signed and yes even the dart board can be signed. Did I mention everything can be examined? You do not have to toss the deck, someone else can toss it. No monkeying around with the deck or learning to hold back one card and really trying to pin it. This effect is easy and 2 version are taught on the DVD one for close-up situations and one for stage. No this is not the version done by Blaine on Dive of Death. I created this in 2001 and you can read more about that in the youtube video. If you can throw a dart you can and will do BULLSEYE. Any questions feel free to email me, Brent Braun |

Brent performed it at the Comedy Club in Louisville last month. You could hear "gasp" when the sign card was impaled. It's a KILLER!

I just received the DVD in the mail today, and was able to watch it immediately. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.
I'm a big fan of having certain things in the repertoire that can be performed in an organic setting, and this routine fits the bill nicely. I really like the idea that I can be in a place that has a dartboard nearby and know that I have an effect that can really devastate an audience ready to go should the opportunity present itself. Every aspect of the effect has been very clearly covered during the teaching portion, and the method is broken up into different steps, each addressing different issues and questions that might arise. Two different presentations are covered, one being the more informal "bar" version, and the other a stage version that makes use of an assistant (but not a stooge). The stage version offers a few added subtleties and comic elements than the impromptu. There is a slight bit of preparation involved, but no gimmicks of any kind are employed during the trick. The prep time is very short, less than a minute I'm guessing and it is not complicated. The method itself is very straightforward and practical, and with a bit of smart practice is not difficult to master. Once you do you will have an awesome effect in your arsenal that can be set up and performed at a moments notice. These are my initial reactions to watching through the DVD for the first time. I can't wait to try this out on a real audience and see how well this plays. This is something I will use in the right circumstance, and therefore it was very much worth the price. |

Received mine yesterday and watched it twice. I agree with BHart24. I had an idea about the handling since I went to a Chad Long lecture which Brent credits for the idea behind Bulls-eye. I know I would not have come up with Brent's handling. It was darn clever. As mentioned everything is gone over in detail. I'm pleased with my purchase !!!! The only down side was the corny song at the end. I did smile though. Good Job Brent. I'm off to buy a dart board game to pump a little more money in to the economy.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that you'll have the Bullseye theme song stuck in your head for the rest of the day. I caught myself singing it around the house just a short time ago. I can only imagine my wife trying to figure out what the heck I was singing about. What's the story behind the songs Brent?

I do believe this is the first magic effect ever to have its own theme song.
I am lucky enough to work with Moose Studios where the Bullseye Theme song was written and recorded by a great musician and theme song writer The Rev. Shane Ellis. When we discussed the Bullseye theme song the one goal I gave him was that I wanted it catchy enough that it would get stuck in peoples head and they would find themselves singing it for a few days. Well when he originally wrote the theme song it was amazing but contained one very dirty word. For obvious reasons we toned it down and Hell yeah worked perfectly. Moose studios has recorded several theme songs for me in the past. From songs for game show themed trade show booths to theater show intros. It is truly and amazing place that is filled with tons of talent. If any of you ever need music for one of your projects let me know and I will be happy to hook you up with the Moose crew. Bullseye Bullseye Is that your card? Bullseye Bullseye Hell Yeah I should also mention that the Bullseye mp3 will be available on my website for download in a few days for the low low price of only $.99 What a bargain. Thanks for all the great comments, Brent Braun |

When I saw the demo video, I thought exactly that: Chad Long`s effect with the suction cup dart gun from his ''Lost Cheesy Notes''. Doesn`t seem to be anything different here other than it uses a dart instead of the gun.

"I do believe this is the first magic effect ever to have its own theme song."
Actually about a year ago I wrote and recorded a theme song called Colorblind (very heavy metal and punk feel to it) with magician Matthew Johnson in My recroding studio for his "Colorblind" effect. I played all the instruments and he did the singing. It is the theme song you'll here when you pop in the Colorblind DVD and it plays during the menu. Getting back to bullseye. I really like this effect a lot and I think it would be perfect in pubs, as every one of them seems to have dart boards these days. In the right place, I think this effect will definitely drop some jaws as the demo video looks quite impressive. Well done Brent, Tony Chris
As magicians we create what onlookers call magic. If they truly believe in what we have created for them to witness then magic is real!!!

Tony,
Sounds like my kinda music. I never picked up a copy of Colorblind but I may have to check it out now. Patrick as far as "Doesn`t seem to be anything different here other than it uses a dart instead of the gun" I openly credit Chads effect as being the inspiration for my thinking. The method I created for Bullseye is different from Chads effect. In setup, execution and most importantly audeince impact. Bullseye allows you to let the spectator shuffle their card back into the deck and also allows you to have someone else toss the deck and all of this with no palming. If you think you can work out a method of doing this effect with only Chads handling please refrain from purchasing Bullseye but I assure you you will be missing a lot of the subtlties that make this effect a killer! Thanks for your thoughts, The presale price is still available and will be until Midnight Dec.15th. Check it out on my website. Brent Braun |

Hi Gang,
Just watched the video of Bullseye, and I have to say that I really like it. There's a lot of action, and the dart adds a perceived element of danger. I mean, anytime you can throw a sharp object during a card trick, it's going to be cooler to laymen, right? I've also done my Dart Gun Trick without a table and had a spectator throw the cards, but feel the handling, which indeed involved palming, was a bit "muddy". Bullseye must be a blast to perform in bars or pubs that already have a dart board on the wall. Would it be possible to do it with those electronic ones you see in a lot of places nowadays? I have a comedy idea involving a stooge holding the dart board, while wearing a thick layer of cork under all his clothes, but we won't go there right now....lol! Also, someone mentioned doing it against a tree. Imagine the spectator throwing a BIG handful of leaves, and the dart impales the one they signed and mixed in earlier with the other leaves. Just thinking out loud, but that would look incredible! Brent, thanks for the gracious credit. You've given me something else to brag to my wife about! Keep up the great work! Happy Holidays, Chad |

Chad long? Are you serious? I heard you died...? were incarcerated...? Moved to alaska? or something.
Anyway Glad you like the effect and yes it can be done with those electronic dart boards but it is a lot harder. I messed around with the idea of using a Hole punched deck and the electronic dart board seemingly making the effect more plausible. Just seemed to make the whole thing feel a bit goofy. The idea of using a tree and leaf is so amazing. I just went out side in the dark in the middle of the winter to throw leaves and darts at a tree. How dedicated am I? Okay maybe I am just an idiot. Anyway Chad I hope you are still performing and creating magic? Do you still lecture or release material? You have always been one of my favorite lectures. Hope things are good for you and tell you wife I think you are amazing and totally hot! PM me your mailing address and I will pop a copy of the DVD into the mail for you. Thanks, Brent Braun |

To clarify my last post no one ever really told me Chad was dead. They just said He went underground, very deep underground. Maybe I misunderstood.

Braunmagic: I knew you credited Chad for the idea, I read davidpaul$'s post and my post was sort of a reply to his about the credit thing.
No, you wouldn't be able to have the spectator shuffle the card in himself nor have them throw the deck, but I can easily understand how you can accomplish these points when you're working with a sharp dart. It's the same concept as Chad's effect, therefore it will use the same principle and so I can sort of work out what basically happens. I'd never be sure though. I wasn't trying to bash your product. I personally think it makes it more practical to use a dart than a dart gun. In a show though, I think the dart gun is so much cooler. Chad, loved your Lost Cheesy Notebooks! |

Did someone say there is NO palming involved in this? It looks like a great effect and I really want it. How easy is it to perform? I'm not afraid of work. I am a solid worker, I've been working close up in restaurants and corporate private shows for about 5 or 6 years.

Very, Very easy to perform. There is no palming involved. It does have 1 bad angle though, you can't have anyone standing to the right of you. It cannot be done fully surrounded.
