I need suggestions for illustrating the Luke 2:22-40 text (Simeon blessing the baby Jesus, prophesying that great things will happen later because of Jesus).
I use standard tricks for children's sermons and am stumped on this one. My only idea now is to use the theme of "small to great" -- maybe having a small silk change into a large one (I'd love to change a silk into a six-foot square butterfly silk, but the budget probably wouldn't allow it!). So, any suggetions would be helpful. Thanks! |

Couple of themes:
1)Giving Thanks (Simeon praising God, "Now let your servant go in Peace...") 2)Listening to God (Simeon being "guided by the Spirit). 3)Keeping a Promise - God fulfills and Simeon praise God because of it. Have an idea or two on these themes if they work for you. PM me and we can chat. John |
