There have been several reviews of the Ed Solomon book, “Presentations for The Storyteller – The Complete Works of DeNomolos – Vol One”. You can read some of them in the Spooky & Bizarre section of this forum and I endorse everything that has already been said.
The book was released on November 6th. to coincide with the 17th. ICBM Bizarre Gathering in Connecticut, at which Ed Solomon was Guest of Honor I have now read the book from cover to cover (498 pages to be precise!) and tell you that any performing magician will find at least 10 (TEN) presentations that he/she will want to use. Even if you do not consider yourself to be a storytelling magician, many of the items are ideal for a change of pace. Think of Blackstone's rabbit production, in which a little girl from the audience assists the magician in producing a real live rabbit. It is a beautifully constructed, charming magical interlude in an otherwise fast moving show. Many of Ed's routines have similar charm and any one of them could be the effect that audiences will talk about long after they have forgotten your more spectacular effects. For those who like gadgetry, Ed includes lots of relatively easy to construct gimmicks – A whole book for instance (“Magic By The Seat of Your Pants”), devoted to 22 clever presentations using magnets. Scattered throughout the compilation are beautiful artistic mini-sculptures that you can make yourself with polymer clay and other substances – hardly anything difficult and Ed explains it all. But it is the stories coupled with simple and ingenious magic effects that really impress. Dark tales of horror are mixed with the soft, gentle and nostalgic. Amazing historical facts are dispensed with entertaining and magical illustration. And then there is the downright funny! There is an effect in Book One – “Egyptian Magic”, entitled 'Cleo's Asp' which is hilarious! Full of comic innuendo with a naughty play on words (I think a suppressed 'dirty old man' lurks beneath the DeNomolos elderly academic exterior!). The trick itself is a very easy to construct Snake Basket concept and is very, very funny! There are other humorous 'bawdy' but inoffensive items that will surprise, appeal and above all, entertain! The book is a hard bound compilation of Ed's first six e-books. It will cost you $85.00 plus postage. But for that outlay you will receive 144 routines & presentations (that's less than 0.60cents per item!) with additional thoughts and contributions from various writers of forewords etc. Bill Palmer (Editor/translator of the Punx book and Borodin's two masterpieces) edited the compilation and adds miscellaneous comments here and there. This is a wonderful addition to the relatively small library of books on the growing topic of storytelling magic. Buy the book – and like me, you will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of volumes two and three. For purchasing details contact Ed Solomon: http://denomolos.com Leslie

Aaaaaand, 8 (EIGHT) years later, I found a used copy if this amazing yet out of print work, so thankful because everything he wrote seems to be out of print and now unavailable due to his recent passing early this year, sadly. Doubly thankful to find this used copy has an inscription by Ed Solomon to the original owner.
The contents of the book include the following books, reprinted with black and white illustrations: Book One: Egyptian Magick Book Two: Strange Offerings Book Three: Something Strange Within Book Four: Sound FX Book Five: The Backdoor Key of Solomon Book Six: Magic By the Seat of Your Pants I don't think any of the other volumes were produced. Currently on his website, it says all sales are on hold as of Jan. 15, 2016.
