Small shredders can be purchased at most any office supply.

Wal-mart sells a mini shredder complete with its own garbage can for about $12.00
Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.

Are you looking for one that is plugged in or battery operated? Obviously the plugged shredders have significantly more power but lack the spontaneity of a battery shredder.

Be careful of the small, hand-cranked shredders since many are single-sheet shredders and do not take multiple sheets (like a envelope) very well. I haven't shopped for shredders in the U.S. in a couple of years, but you should be able to find small multi-sheet shredders.

Good luck,
Bill

I took the "burning of the bills" out of my act and I have been using a paper shredder ever since the Station Nite Club Fire in RI. I think I bought mine at Staples. I bought an electric one, small and portable and it workd great for what you need. I agree a battery operated one may not be efficient enough, especially when the batteries become weaker. One thing you do not want to happen is have it "give out" in the middle of shredding an envelope.

I actually like the shredder Idea better and the suspense builds up as each envelope is shredded, not to mention less worry about setting off fire alarms.

Yes it is called Innodesk it uses 4 AA batteries. It will easily cut many layers of paper. In fact I have a whole routine with it. I bought a few and gimmicked one so it will both cut and not cut when you need it to. I got it on sale at Office Max clearance isle for $9. I have cut bicycle playing cards with it.

Here's some ideas:

Shredder scissors - http://www.stupid.com/fun/BLAD.html

Bill Shredder Bank - http://www.wonderfullywacky.com/bank-billshredder.htm Too bad it's discontinued. Maybe, a search can turn one up.
