Hi guys,
I'm in the process of adding another character to my act. I have the cowboy, who I can also change into a tux (found one that fit! haha), but I want to add a Pirate. Here's the only one I found I really like: http://www.thepuppetstore.com/Pirate_Puppet_p/sp2902.htm He's only 25" tall, which is a little small, but that would be okay, as his name will be Piccolo. At the stage I'm at, I really can't afford much more for a puppet, and the only other ones I have found are the $600 ones, which I can't afford. So, question, anyone have one of these? If so, how'd it do under Venting conditions? Thanks fella's. Collin

NOt sure how big you are on doing your own modifications on puppets, but I have a suggestion if you are interested....
I just scored a puppet from an eBay vendor for $.95. Yup, you read that right, Ninety-Five cents ! It is a brand-new, still in the package, President George Bush vent puppet. I think at one point, it used to spout Bush soundbytes, but the batteries are obviously dead at this point. This puppet is at least equal to the quality fo the one you have the link posted for. Same type of puppet, soft figure, though with more detail in the face, like wrinkles and such sewn in. It obviously does not come in a pirate outfit, but perhaps you could find a cheap kids halloween pirate costume to complete the effect. The seller charged me $12.95 for Priority Shipping, which was correct by USPS rates, but man, what a deal ! Less than $14 for a full size soft figure vent puppet ! He comes dressed in a presidential business suit, complete with tie and American Flag pin on the lapel. I plan to remove the jacket and add a sweater, change the hair to white, add a white mustache, and voila...for a few bucks more, I will have an old man to work my nursing home jobs with me ! By the way, this seller has TONS of these puppets for sale. Just go to eBay, type in George Bush puppet, and you will see just how many of these the guy has, everyone for $.95, which is a steal. Of course, if you don't have the time or inclination to mess with this, then the puppet you provided the link for will probably suit you just fine. It looks like it is ready to growl "ARGH matey...." :D Mark

Haha. but with an Italian Accent! I was probably going to change the pirates hair to black, so I might be up for a bit more modification.. I'll look at the W puppet. For 95¢ you can't beat the deal!
Thanks for your input Mark! Danton

Hey, wait a minute. Trumpetman did buy a real pirate. Why change the costume? The idea is to bring the consciousness of the public up to realize what a pirate really looks like in the present age. ;-)
