Hello
I've been checking around for a online magic dealer for some time that do international shipping for a price that is not hilarious, most sites I found was 100$+ for shipping a order of ~110$ including linking rings to Sweden. Even without linking rings it was not an option. I found one store that was good http://www.thetrickshop.com with a better price but unfortunate they didn't answer my 2 e-mails with questions about the shipping rate and one of the products. Do you know any good american stores that ships to Europe for a not hilarious price? European stores? I have searched the forum several times for a good answer of my question but I didn't found what I was looking for |

Well, how about a store in Sweden? http://www.gycklaren.com have several types of linking rings. They aren't especially cheap on shipping abroad, which is why I haven't bought that Lennart Green manuscript they sell yet, but for you inside of Sweden it would not be a problem.
When ordering large items from abroad you have to expect to pay a certain amount shipping, unfortunately, due to the postage rates being what they are on larger and heavier items. I tend to use http://www.penguinmagic.com They have cheap international shipping up to a certain weight where it goes up to the next level. It's about as low as international shipping can get, I think. http://www.madhattermagicshop.com is another good one. You pay what it actually costs and there are people to talk to and get help and answers. I agree that there are a lot of difficulties buying magic items. I have run into stores that don't package items properly (Penguin is the worst offender there, but on the other hand, when something finally went wrong they just sent me new books immediately). There are also a lot of magic stores that take Visa but who don't have a secure shopping cart system, so that if someone hacks your info, you are not covered for any loss. Then you have the many stores and private magicians who sell you things they don't actually have in stock, which seems to be so ordinary a practice within the field of magic that it is almost a standard practice. They have badly made html websites and don't update their stock info on a regular basis. You pay right away through PayPal, but it turns out that they don't have it so the lies start and they tell you that it has shipped when it really hasn't. Shipping prices is also, as you point out, a problem. I also use eBay a lot, and there especially you run into a lot of shipping scammers and just generally greedy people. One famous coin guy charges... I think it was $118 for shipping on a set of 5 coins. I mentioned here once that his shipping prices was a tad high and he launched a hate campain of me on his weblog, posting photos of me and everything so that everyone could see what a real jerk look like. That was really reasonable of him. Good luck with your orders!

I have ordered from the magic depot http://www.magic.org/store/index.php in the past, they shipped pretty fast and with the amount you're shopping for, shipping is free. I live in the Netherlands, so I think you can expect similar conditions in Sweden.
Michael EDIT: Depending on weight, you may have to pay. The limit for free shipping is 3 pounds, about 1.5kg |

We usually use the Flat Rate international shipping box from the US Postal Service.
I can usually work something out on shipping if you email me directly with what you want. International shipping is tough - the shipping firms are always raising prices to try to make more profit in bad economic times.

Hello and thank you everyone for your answers
![]() I tried before buying from gycklaren.com but unfortunate they are very expensive on a lot of their items. If I take this hilarious shipping costs of 100$ I still save money when I buy stuff from most US shops than buying it there in a lot of cases. I know I had a problem buying heavy linking rings so I ended up buying linking rings from http://www.madhattermagicshop.com and got a shipping cost of 40$. Everything else I bought from magic.com because of their free shipping so I could get a good split. http://www.shopmagicvault.com seems to be an alternative in the future when I buy stuff the next time. This time I got tired of it and took one of the first sites so I didn't have to wait anymore ![]() Thanks I really got some goods sites here and thank you 'The Amazing Noobini' for sharing your experience concerning this issue. |

Penguin Magic now passes along our international shipping rate based on weight. We are basically charging what we get charged. Our product prices are so low we were losing money on many/most international orders. We're still the lowest total cost of ownership, but I wanted to let you know of the update. |

I ordered from the magicdepot in the usa shipping to Japan and because of the amt. of the order it was free shipping you can't beat that....and I got a free gift too....The delivery was very very good they had my wallet to me in less then a week. I was very happy with the purchase and will probably order again considering the prices in Japan are very high for magic items.
