Why Juliana Chen's cards are white and black on the back??? I just can't understand the logic?

Hmm.. she likes them like that? =P I did notice she always has a black background when she performs...?

It works for her but you can also say that the black gets hidden in the shadows of the fingers. She also uses different methods and techniques that work for her where by the cards do not come into view so much.

In her Card Shooting DVD, she goes into a lot of detail of why her cards are black and white. She says the black goes between her fingers in back palm position to help blend in to her background, just like Pete said. She also explains that the white shows up better when she fans the cards with the backs showing to the audience.

I had a chance to talk with her after her performance at a Winter Carnival convention in Knoxville about that very thing and she explained that the card give a lot of contrast on stage. It was a joy to talk with her. She is very warm, gracious, and giving when it comes to magic.

She is a class act on and off stage.
