I've long been interested in the late Irv Weiner. Is anyone aware of any existing video footage or even written material about Irv?

Tony,

There is a very brief bit of info on this site: http://www.mrfingers.com/

Also, a Google search will direct you to some additional info--including a certain magic magazine's forum site where there is a long thread on Irv Weiner. I'd mention the site's name and URL but, in the back of my mind, I think it might be against Café policy if I let that apparition out of its bottle.

Hope this helps.

Mike

I attended an Irv Weiner lecture in Vancouver 25 years ago and found him one of the most personable magicians I have ever encountered.A very interesting and likeable gentleman. I have used a version of his dancing egg in my show ever since. (Johnny Thompson is a very close second as a great lecturer/personality.)

He had some great ideas. I remember doing his coin to nested boxes. It's amazing. Basically the box is on the table the entire time and you vanish a coin then open the boxes one at time... in a very clean manner. The last two boxes are opened by the spectator and his coin is inside.

It's genius thinking!!!

Saw him several times doing a college show in a tweed jacket and bow tie. Not your typical college act attire.

Every time he got an honest standing ovation!

A great guy and a fabulous and knowledgeable entertainer.

We sure miss this giant.
