I had been fortunate enough to come upon a nice photograph of Tony Curtis as Houdini, framing the picture are smaller thumbnail size pictures from the movie and it is autographed by Tony Curtis and is certified. I also have the DVD of the movie it kind of makes a nice set.

It is a great piece...much better than just a regular photograph.

I wrote Tony Curtis a few years ago and sent him two "HOUDINI" photos for him to sign. He was the only person in one of the photos and Janet in the other. I sent a nice letter and asked him to autograph them for me. About two weeks later, they came back to me signed. Older actors today do not get as much fan mail as they use to. At that time Janet Leigh autographs were hot. I figured Tony's would be the hardest to get, so I sent both to him first. My intentions were to get both of them to eventually sign them. I was about to send the photo to Janet, with both of them pictured and learned that Janet had just died. I already had a couple of photos with her signature on it, but I regret not getting her signature on the photo signed by Tony.

When Tony Curtis just did his talk at the Magic Castle last month, he stayed around after down in the Inner Circle to sign copies of his new book. He was extremely gracious and took the time to sign whatever you had. I was able to get his new book as well as a Houdini poster signed, both of which he not only signed, dated and personalized to me, but he also wrote a small note on each and then drew a sketch as well. It was great!
Having been to numerous book signings before, it was nice having someone to take the time to talk to each person rather than just moving people through without ever looking at them... I was extremely grateful for that opportunity and am now eagerly awaiting the Houdini poster to be framed... |
