I know that roughing fluid is great for certain effects, however I can't seem to find any. I have checked Penguin Magic with no luck. If anyone knows where I can get an inexpensive bottle, please let me know.
Thanks again! |

In the UK (and probably elsewhere, come to think of it!), Humbrol matt varnish spray makes an excellent, cheap, and hard wearing roughing spray.

I use small pieces of D***** stick tape. 1 per card.
Then I press my thumb on it and release for approx. 20 x's. Serves the purpose. |

Sixten.... so you are doing this 52 times per deck.. a lot of work... 1040 thumb presses... You gotta try one of the other suggestions...

Hi fbcarter.
Yup. Just been tired of the old unfortunate spreading when you don't want it to happen. That's just me. Enjoy your Santa. Sixten |

Use a light pressure to separate and a firm pressure to keep the cards together. Also, chop off the corner of a bar of Cashmere Bouquet Soap and draw an "X" on the smooth side of each card, with the soap - makes the deck work smoother. |

Thank you, Alan.
As you know, there are some more ways to "Skin a Deck"! When my setup losses the "You know what", I will use what you mentioned. Very best, Sixten |

Acrylic Clear Satin finish works good as well. Lay them all out, light spray from about 3 feet above, let them sit for 10-15mins, then pair them up!

Just to add:
The secret to spraying these cards is to lay down the top cards face up and spray them horizontally. Then lay down the bottom cards (face down) and spray them vertically. This gives the best gr** or st***. Mike |

Yes and my car starts better if I kick the front left tire three times.
I would suggest to you that the cards do not know what direction they have been sprayed. Bob |

Go lighter on the spray than you'd think. You can always add more.

When making my own decks, I lay out a large double page of newspaper and place the cards face up. Then I spray somewhat horizontally across all of the cards with 2 -3 quick passes of Rough King spray. I let it dry for a few minutes and then repeat a quick spray over all of the cards just once more and let dry a final time. Cards are then assembled in an appropriate manner.
The first time that I tried making my own decks I made the mistake of spraying too closely to the cards and they got too wet causing the colors to run. You only need light touches of the spray with each pass. My decks last me quite a while and function quite smoothly.
Life is an improv. The game goes on...
