I would try..
1. Prof Nightmare 2. Sponge balls 3. Power Lunch (Vol 1 Sankey Sanders Session) = Killer way to hand out business card 4. Sharpie thru bill 5. Card tricks All are visual, fairly easy to perform and require NO RE-SET! |

Hay it sounds were at a similar level except I done a few little gigs and walk round stuff also played about on the street.
I just want to echo a few things. Take the bits you know work and are happy with. If I am nervous I just use, Silk vanish, Ambitious card, Sponge bunnies, Professor nightmare, I used these as a little routine and it worked for me. If you do sponge balls use sponge bunnies because people full in love with those things and remember it for ever. Also sounds your trying to push your self out there rather then set around so good luck go for it.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

Neil - Here is one last piece of advice. It is true that you already have plenty of walk-around/strolling stuff. However, you also need to have available one or two things that will play well for a large audience. Suppose at the end of your gig your host asks you to do something for the entire audience as an encore. You need to have something prepared in advance that will work for the entire group. You could do something as simple as an Invisible Deck (assuming you have not done it while strolling), or Professor's Nightmare, or whatever. Just make sure you hold something back that will play well for a large group.
Enjoy!

Performing professional is not about what you perform its how you perform it.

The main thing you need is confidence. All that Zach posted is spot on. But you need confidence. If your sleights are really solid, they should be so solid that you can perform them without having to think about them. This comes from one thing only -- practice.
Practice everything until it becomes boring. Then practice it until it becomes beautiful.

Whatever effects you decide on try them repeatedly between now and then on everybody you meet....the mailman, friends, total stragers who look like they might like magic, or not.
The more you can familiarise yourself with the effects and peoples responses now the easier it will be on the big day. |
