Hey, have you guys seen this? I've never seen anyone use a method quite like this and I think she does it really well. At first I thought it was Astrosphere, but it's not. Kind of cool.

Nice - yes, it is the Astrosphere, with some thought behind the presentation.

I would have to disagree that it is an Astrosphere. The hook-up is very different, though I admit the principles are similar.

I liked it better before she dropped the cloth.

Not bad, but man someone needs to smile.

It's nice to see a magician performing with elegance, style, and forethought.
It is also nice to see a woman magician well represented. I think her tone and mood work, and don't see the need for her to grin. This is a thoughtful working of the Astro-Sphere concept with a slightly altered hook-up that allows some flexibility, quite simple but elegant. I think the piece would be stronger at about half the length, and I wish she took more care with the foulard rather than just dropping it to the ground with little thought. At first I thought the ball might not play red-against-red with her costume, but it does work, as does the white sparkle foulard with the same fan backdrop. All in all a nice representation, when the setting may not allow for an all out Okito version. I would like to see a little more flow and choreography in her movements WITH the ball, and as I said, I believe less-is-more, and she could edit down the length. On the whole, brava! Nice choices, and some good effort! Does anyone know her or her other work? My two-cents, Walt |
