Survey time...

Those of you using flipper's- Do you mark your flipper in any way to make it recognizable in a group of coins?? (to you, not the spectator!)

I have heard of using a unique year (my eye's aren't that good anymore- '64 Kennedy's anyone?...) and sanding the edge to make it more dull...

What do YOU do, if anything???

Nothing. I just keep it in a seperate holder in the pant pocket and go from there.

But, in a coins-thru-table or even some coins across routines it can get jumbled in with 2 or 3 regular coins... One routine I do requires all the coins be poured out of my hand onto the tabletop... Once they're in a heap on the table (or my palm... depending on the effect) is the issue- not from the start of the effect.

I usually keep it in my coin pocket of my jeans, but I can tell the difference in the weight.

I use Walking Liberty coins, and sometime I put a little dot on the sun with a black marker pen. Easy and find for me, impossible for the spectators to see.

I hadn't thought of it before now, but I can see what you mean. I would think some form of mark on the edge would be the best bet to prevent the mark from being seen by the specs when performing. Just thinking out loud, a color other than black, perhaps gray, would be a good marking for an edge and would allow you to see it, but wouldn't be noticeable by your audience.

I have real coins that have all kinds of stuff all over them as well--some quarters the machines won't take because they are too filthy. Don't know how that could be simulated, and may take away from presentation, but if the marks were so big and obvious it may misdirect from it actually being any type of marking.

I'll try the gray sharpie on the edge and let you know how that goes.
