Hi Guys
I can't belive it (Well I Can, But It still makes me really sad) I have just seen the masked magicial expose the rising card, healed and sealed and after the adverts he is going to expose the haunted hank and needle through arm. I guess that we should be used to this but I am now thinking that thesew programs are going too far. What do you guys think? |

I am really bummed out that Prohibition was exposed. Unbelievable.

I always have and always will think that it's primarily magicians who watch these shows and lay people who manage to catch them won't care ten minutes after the program's over.

When MM first started, the exposure was more of the old classics. Now it seems they are getting into the commerical effects that many of us use.
Its sad that money means more to the MM than the brotherhood of magic. I hope the bad karma catches up with him and he gets what he truly deserves.

It ranks right up there with telling four year-old children there is no Santa.
This exposure is just another reason to make sure you have an original and entertaining presentation for any of these effects. No one here will disagree that this guy and the show in general sucks. |

He'd better watch his posterior if he exposes the needle through the arm. Since Harry Anderson bought the rights to that from Bruce Spangler, he may not be very pleased.
And Harry is one fellow I genuinely don't want to p*** off.

Hi Guys
Bill, Yes he exposed the needle through arm, I can't be certain which version as I don't do that effect, however I can tell you that he used R****R C****T. Again I don't use the rising card but I know a few working magicians who do and I feel that this is taking away from their act. In addition to these he is still exposing classic illusions as well. Perhaps we need to look at doing some of the great, yet not so common effects. Lets hope that he doesn't start exposing mentalism next. |

I got another MM comment last night. My new line for it is:
"Oh yeah...you mean the show that just got cancelled right? Yeah...never saw it...I guess you were the only one who did...probably why it got cancelled!" (at least in Dallas it was) Bill is correct. Having been lucky enough to meet Harry, I can tell that as awesome as he is, he's one to keep on your good side! What version of the rising card did he expose? My version is clean. Deck can be examined before and after the trick. No trick deck is used...

Hi Lyle
The rising card that he used was the one with the weighted card/Stock. I'm glad it wasn't the Jeff McBride version or Al Baker Hook Up. At tleast if you can end clean, then you can disprove the MM and any theories based on someone watching the program. One question, why do you think the MM does this? He's a bit like the magicians arch enemy, perhaps we need a Magi Superhero LOL |

Penn & Teller are still out there exposing and it appears that they are getting away with it.
It makes me sick! :( |

The exposure is one thing but I also hate the way the narrator puts down magicians as a bunch of skilless swindelers.

I haven't watch too much Penn & Teller stuff. I have always thought that they were quite entertaining. Please don't tell me that they have started exposing as well.

The guy who is really behind it also used to promote the World's Greatest Magic Show at the Greek Isles Casino. There's the scumbag.

AS Lyle said it's Valanteno, They just showed his unmasking and his excuses for exposing. And as per usual he just exposed some great illusions as well as some classic impromptu close up effects such as the ashes/lipstick through the back of the spectators fist.

Penn and Teller when they expose use phoney methods that they make up and are entertainig, generally I think they promote magic in a good way and make it look cool. The jerk masked magician is iritating but I don't think that many people see the show, even those that do forget the methods. I don't think he doe as much harm as magicians think.

Penn and Teller expose phoney methods? Now, maybe they have changed there tactics, but I distinctly remember seeing them on tv in front of a live audience exposing the thumbtip. Actually, they had passed out thumbtips to everyone in the audience...complete with the little red hanky if memory serves. I think Penn and Teller are brilliant performers. My only problem with them is, if they choose to expose magic, regardless of how ridiculous or accurate their explanation, expose THEIR magic. Expose tricks they have originated. Do not expose methods or tricks developed or used by other magicians. I could be wrong, but I don't think they invented the thumbtip. My opinion, Penn and Teller, Mac King, the late Gary Oulett (producer of World's Greatest Magic specials), and all the performers who exposed on the World's Greatest Magic specials are every bit as guilty as the masked moron. Had they expose tricks or methods invented by them, I would have no problem with that at all.

Patrick, do you think Gary Oulett, Mac King, Penn & Teller, Masked Moron, help popularize magic and magicians?
