As far as I know, this is an original version of the Paul Harris effect Strange Exchange. Please share your thoughts and any possible history! I'd love to hear what you have to say about, well, anything!

Very visual, looks great on video! Doesn't look like a trick that would work in too many "real-world" environments, because of the angles, but well done nonetheless!
Does the original use a top-palm for the moment of the exchange, or am I thinking of a different effect?

Yes, it does indeed use a top palm.
And, as a side note, the angles are better than you'd think. I've used is successfully for spectators a couple of times and, once it is more polished, I plan on doing it more frequently. Of course, considering the angles, groups of spectators would need to be relatively small. Thank you for your feedback!

Very confident and smooth and your sleight was really good.
Don't know what you could do about it but my brain kept saying, "wheres the rattle" when you were handling the card box with the coin in it. |

You're the first one to comment on that... it flies most of the time, but I agree there might be the occasional suspicious spectator that may take notice. I'll have to think about that one.

On the subject of the rattle of the coin in the card box, you are most likely already aware of card boxes that have been modified to be rattle boxes. I think it would be cool to be able to rattle the coin in the box right up until the moment then the card and coin switch places, at which point the rattling simply stops and they realize that the coin is impossibly in your other hand.
One other idea. If you do choose to take the path of using a rattle box, and hold the box by the short ends, you would be able to immediately use the second part to House Guest by Ernest Earick to remove the card from the card box, considering the card in the right hand is in t***ai after the actual change. Just a couple of thoughts! PM me if anything isn't clear. Brian |

Very clear, thank you for the great suggestion! The one rattle box I'm aware of is The Vox Box which might be worth looking into in this case. I might give it a try, for sure. However, in impromptu situations, I don't mind the absence of rattle. I really like your idea of "hearing" the moment in which they switch, that is worth experimenting with. Thank you!

The answer to making the box appear to have the sound of a coin inside can be found in Steve Bedwell's great effect Parked Card! which is on his "Taped!" DVD.
Hope this helps. Rich Aviles |

The original idea is great as well, and it is very nice to be able to do impromptu.
Best of luck, and let me know how it goes if you experiment with a rattle card case. |

Tear off one of the side flaps and keep it in the box to make a "rattle" sound. This solves the impromptu rattle problem. Someone once showed me this in conjunction with a card in box routine. I believe it was Kostya Kimlat but I am not sure.
