I currently perform John Lovicks reperation in my restaurant work but I am currently looking for a new T&R. I have and I am still looking around at previous posts on this subject as their are quite a few of them. Some very important points for me are set up, re-set, Angles and time to perform. The reason I am looking for a new version of the T&R card is because currently reperation has some angle problems and has a set up which uses upimportant pocket space. Can anyone please gve me a guide in the right direction.
I have just found Make Amends by Wayne Fox and it sounds in the description like everything I am looking for. I know it is new but wondered if anyone has seen it performed live and could give me their experience of it. The video of it is at http://www.magicshop.co.uk and look under Whats New. If Anyone with more experience than me on T&R (I have only ever used Reperation)if you could look at the video and tell me what you think. If you have any more suggestions I would love to hear them |

I wouldn't even think about doing an effect like The Reparation in a restaurant... do you only do it when there's only one table full?

Matt.Magician, thanks for the link. Again their is the set up problem with using pocket space and it is fairly similar to Reparation.
Futureal, I must admit I don't perform it that much anymore although I have my own presentation for it which does speed things up quite a bit. Did either of you have a look a Make Amends, what do you think of restoring the entire signed card in one go as opposed to piece by piece |

I still prefer J.C. Wagner's version (kind of the one that others are based on). It was developed for use in bars and restaurants, it is simple and packs a punch. It is easy to get in and out of and to reset for another group. Just my opinion.

I buy a lot of "junk" but this is a little gem that I perform quite often. There is NO RESET and it just takes up as much pocket space as a deck of cards.
I HIGHLY recommend this. Check it out. Torched and restored |

I second SoCalPro's suggestion about Brent Braun's "Torched and Restored". I use this every night, 4 nights a week and my handling requires no re-set. I also found the perfect lighter to use as the "Turbo Torch 2000". I bought all the lighters the smoke shop had. If you are interested in one of them, please PM me.

Its not a regular lighter with a flame that flickers. But, rather a torch type of flame.

Correct, wind resistant. Just looks like a torch. I have people comment about the lighter when I bring it into play. Perfect

Oh, I might add that they came in both steel gun grey and gold. I actually like the gold color better. The gold just looks a little mory classy than the grey. Just my opinion.

I work a lot of restaurants and wanted an angle proof, quick and instant restoration of a signed card and after many months and many decks, I came up with this method. I felt a piece by piece restoration in the restaurant field just was'nt working for me, with the angles causing a problem. I have been performing Make Amends for a few years, so if you do have any questions I'm sure I can help. You get a 45 min instructional DVD plus all props to make a gimmick that does, nearly, all the work for you. It takes about 5 mins to make the gimmick and it is re-useable. Best Wayne Fox |

Hi Wayne Thanks for posting a reply.
I am looking to use this in my restaurant work do you know when it will be available? Their were a couple of things I was wondering. I have my ideas on how the gimmick may work but wont say on here. Your video clip at:- http://www.magicshop.co.uk/p3280/Make_Am......nfo.html shows you restoring the card in a specs cupped hands. Can this be done with every performance or do you have to be very carfull with who you pick to try this on? Can the card case just be tossed onto the table after the restoration for any inquisitive minds present? The more I look at the vid the more I like the restoration. Has anyone else watched the vid yet at the above link. This could be a very good piece of magic, fast, visual quick re-set and from what I understand so far near instant re-set. A magicians dream. |

I may be wrong but isn't it a little misleading to say that "Torched & Restored" does not require any reset? Yes that is true but for someone who is not familiar with the trick, it does require special preparation of each card you use. I think it is a good trick but I would not want anyone here to go out and buy it thinking it was an impromptu trick.

There are a lot of questions about the box, so just to clarify, the box is examinable. But lets just remember that after the restoration you should not be saying "just check the box guys". You can restore the card and drop the box within a second, in their hands if you like, there is nothing to find. My reasoning for using the box is that I say "I wont even touch the card", I then just gently tap the corner of the card box on the card and drop the box on the table, it is honestly that clean. Before Make Amends I used to perform Dave Williamson's T n R Transpo which is just superb, but, like I say, I wanted a Signed T n R effect that suited working in restaurants, and it needed to be quick, so here is Make Amends. Its available now. Let me know if you get it. Thank you for your interest and support. Best Wayne |
