There was a Temple Screen sold in the early '90s that did not have the Buddha and Chinese characters on it. This one had blue and brown panels with spiral coil binding instead of tape. Does anyone know who manufactured this and if it is still available?

You can always modify one. Here's one I made up to look like a menu:

Check out Owen Magic Supreme catalog, item #4122: The Magic Menu (on page 105 of catalog). Don't know if they have it in stock at the moment.

For those who want to "Do-It-Yourself" Jim Gerrish has Hardboard and Duct Tape plans and instructions (plus a print out practice model to work on the handling) that you can decorate in a variety of ways. His version also adds a fourth side to the traditional three sided screen so you can, for example, decorate it like a chimney for Christmas, or like a castle tower, a coffin for Halloween, and so on. It's in the Hardboard and Duct Tape Book 1 section on my site.

I produced a GBC bound giant 12" x 8" playing cards version called "in the cards" around 1985 or so. Had a liquid load production ala "in the News" plus a load chamber.

Still looking for the manufacturer of this Temple Screen. One has surfaced on eBay but I would like to find a new one with no wear. Thanks.

Max Krause puts out a great production screen with interchangeable panels in the screen. The screen is well built and will probably last a lifetime. You can check it out in the Products section on his website then click on Parlor and it will bring up Versatile Production Screen as one of the items. You can check it out there. The link is:

I made several:
One with Santa on one side and Xmas tree on another. (Presents/Toys) One with Hat on one side and a Rabbit on the other. (Rabbit from hat) One with Skulls on both side, for Halloween. Pull a Zombie ball out of it. A Blank one with a plastic insert so now I can change the picture with any thing I want for any occasion.

Untempered hardboard has one smooth side and one rough side. It is prone to slight curving when humid. By gluing two pieces back to back (rough side to rough side) you can make a slightly stronger (and heavier) board that is smooth on both sides. Another solution can be found HERE: http://www.dryerase.com/blank.htm These are white boards on one side and unpainted on the other, but it is true tempered hardboard, smooth on both sides. By sanding the whiteboard side, you can paint it, or you can leave it alone and use the whiteboard feature to write on it with dry erase markers.
